SW44 power or not ?

Just wanted to know if the power supply is essential to power 3 BEV receivers
from 2 SATS on a SW44 switch ?

I see it being sold with and without the power supply/inserter.

In order to work properly the SW44 needs to have the power inserter connected to port 1.
