1. Wladimir Klitschko (55-3)
Klitschko, a dominant champion, smashed Samuel Peter in their Sept. 11 rematch and will return for his 10th title defense before the year is out. He'll face England's rather inexperienced Dereck Chisora (14-0), whose most notable wins have come against Sam Sexton and Danny Williams. It figures to be an easy win for Klitschko, but who else is there for him to fight, especially when he has beaten several contenders and when David Haye and Alexander Povetkin have avoided him?
Next: Dec. 11 vs. Chisora.

2. Vitali Klitschko (41-2)

Klitschko dished out a savage beating to Shannon Briggs in an utterly one-sided title defense on Oct. 16. Klitschko is due back in March to face the winner of the eliminator between Odlanier Solis and Ray Austin. Whomever wins, Klitschko should have little problem.
Next: TBA.

3. David Haye (25-1)

As expected, "The Ducker" blew away human statue Audley Harrison in three pathetic rounds on Nov. 13 in a disgraceful excuse for a heavyweight title fight. If Haye continues to duck the Klitschko brothers, he's nothing more than the heavyweight champion of England.
Next: TBA.

4. Alexander Povetkin (20-0)

Instead of challenging Wladimir Klitschko on Sept. 11, as had been planned, Povetkin bailed on the fight at trainer Teddy Atlas' request and instead faced unheralded Teke Oruh on Oct. 16 in Povetkin's native Russia. Povetkin scored a highlight-reel, fifth-round knockout, but the plan for him to return Oct. 31 was scrapped.
Next: TBA.

5. Tomasz Adamek (42-1)

Adamek is staying busy despite getting no favors from the premium cable networks. He'll face brawler Vinny Maddalone (33-6) on a small pay-per-view card from his home base at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. Hopefully, the talk of a follow-up fight with Roy Jones Jr. is just that -- talk. If that fight happens, it's a disgrace.
Next: Dec. 9 vs. Maddalone.

6. Ruslan Chagaev (27-1-1)

Chagaev is the mandatory for Haye, but that fight won't happen for a bit, so he stayed busy on Nov. 19, outpointing American Travis Walker in a tougher-than-expected eight-rounder. Walker usually gets knocked out when he steps up, but he forced Chagaev to go the distance in a lackluster performance.
Next:TBA.

7. Nikolai Valuev (50-2)

The former titleholder couldn't come to terms for a fight with Vitali Klitschko, so he took time off to have surgery on his left shoulder and right wrist. He'll be out of action for several months.
Next: TBA.

8. Tony Thompson (35-2)

Thompson didn't look great, but he easily won his fourth fight in a row since being stopped by Wladimir Klitschko in the 11th round in 2008 by punishing Paul Marinaccio for four rounds on the Sergio Martinez-Paul Williams II undercard on Nov. 20.
Next: TBA.

9. Denis Boytsov (28-0)

The German-based, Russian contender hadn't fought since January because of a serious right hand injury, which required summer surgery. But he returned Nov. 19 and showed no ill effects as he blew out Mike Sheppard, dropping him four times en route to a second-round knockout.
Next: TBA.

10. Eddie Chambers (35-2)

In March, Wladimir Klitschko laid waste to Chambers in a one-sided beating and brutal 12th-round knockout. But Chambers could wind up as the mandatory again, if he wins a proposed eliminator with Derric Rossy in February.
Next: TBA.
