Bernard Hopkins was an angry man after his fight with WBC/IBO light heavyweight champion Jean Pascal. The fight, which took place at the Pepsi Coliseum in Quebec, saw a twelve round majority decision get issued.
Quebec’s Claude Paquette and Belgium’s Daniel Van de Wiele scored the bout a draw, with 113-113 and 114-114 rulings, but California’s Steve Morrow scored the fight for Hopkins with a 114-112 card. Pascal earned a career-high purse of $1.5 million and Hopkins will collect $1.3 million.
“You all saw it. I beat the guy up,” said Hopkins. “I dominated the fight. It was a sure enough robbery.”
Pascal also cried robbery afterwards. He knocked Hopkins down twice and felt the judges should have given him the win. Pascal doesn't have a problem with a rematch being staged.
“I dropped him two times, but I’m not happy,” said Pascal. “I’m the champ. I want to win. But I would have no problem fighting him again.”

Totally agree. Hopkins found the Fountain of Youth fer shur....
Too bad about the knockdowns... if not for that he wins going away!
But,, why didnt he fight like that against Jones?
The Canadian ran like one of Santas reindeers!
Lets have a rematch!!! Soon! Before Hopkins turns 60!

It was only one knockdown, the first one was an illegal punch to the back of the head. You can't beat a Canadian in Quebec unless you ko him, even if you're 60
Il a été seulement un effet de choc, le premier était un coup de poing illégales à l'arrière de la tête. Vous ne pouvez pas battre un Canadien au Québec, sauf si vous lui ko, même si vous êtes 60.

Well Fibroso,,, it was counted as a knockdown... thats what counts.
AND,,,, ya know,, i kept looking at the replays really close... he actually hit
him right behind the ear... not behind the head...
Take a look it you see a replay of it... I thought it was legit. Apparently the
ref did too. But thats a mute point now.
Anyway,,,, I still feel Hopkins won.
I think a rematch in Vegas would pack em in...
I was really impressed with Hopkins. There is hope for George Foreman!!!!!
Come back George!!! ha ha ha!!!

At first I, swore that Hopkins got hit behind the head on the first knockdown. I recorded the fight and when I played it back I watched close. I slowed down the replay even more and I agree, Hopkins got hit behind the ear, not the back of the head.
Now, would I want to see a rematch of this? No way. I was not impressed by Pascal at all. All he did was get on his bicycle and run. That made for a really dull and boring fight.
In my opinion, I still think Hopkins should retire. Yea he looked better in this fight then he did against Roy Jones Jr, but he had an opponent in front of him that wasn't interested in throwing any punches and all he wanted to do is run. It is easy to look good against someone that doesn't throw punches. Now if you put him against an opponent like, lets say Carl Froch and he still looks good, then I would say he found the fountain of youth.

What's between the ears? In the front is the face and in the back is the lower head. Simple anatomy, so where was the punch? You're alowed to hit in the ear, but not behind, cause that's the back of the head. :noidea:
