According to strong sources in Mexico, Erik "El Terrible" Morales will have the opportunity to win his fourth divisional title when he challenges Juan Manuel Marquez, the WBA and WBO lightweight king, on April 16 at the MGM Grand hotel and casino in Las Vegas. Initially, that date was reserved for Filipino Manny Pacquiao, but his fight with Shane Mosley was moved to May 7.

A deal for Marquez-Morales is said to be close, with Golden Boy Promotions handing down the official word at any moment.

Again,,,, 2 Mexican greats fighting in Las Vegas!!
Thats ashame. Goes to show what money does to people.
How about having the fight in Mexico City?? Give the Mexicans a break.
Haven't they had enough troubles this past year?
Shame on the two Mexican fighters.
Greed to the max.

interesting that morales gets a shot seeing he hasn't fought at 135 in 3 1/2 years and that was a loss to Diaz.
his skills are so badly diminished and making 135 won't be easy either.
garbage fight, catering/ripping off $$ from the Latin PPV crowd.

What a waste of talent!!...I'd die to see another Pacman & Marquez episode,I know Marquez wants it,We Want It, but obviously Roach is not willing to make Pacman make It happen....Easy win for Marquez indeed!!..I'll watch it because I'm a fan of Marquez, but Barrera must be needing some coin for sure!!.....:innocent:

I highly doubt Pac will ever face Marquez again.Marquez perhaps is the best lightweight going. Its too bad Edwin Valero still isn't with us.Saludos el chido.

This fight is more exhibition than anything for Marquez ( He won't have to gulp down a lot of His own piss for this one), It's obvious This is to happen to keep Marquez in shape and let's hope he gets a real contender after that..C'mon,the Man is 38, his days are numbered!!...
