82W is not receivable in most of the US, (its a Canada only satellite) you will have to live somewhere above 40 degrees north latitude. (there a bouts)

All right, thanks guys, I just finished installing a 4 LMB and a bev 2 lmb, so this is very timely.

If you can get 91, 82 has a stronger signal will not be a problem.
Any transponder will work

Here is the general footprint, the bigger the dish the better if you are at or near the edge of the footprint but I don't know exact size needed.

Nimiq4 Footprint (http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff266/Bowhunter70/Nimiq4.jpg)

I get it here in Kansas outside that footprint but I have a very large oval dish (Toroidal T-90).

What is cool is that due to the size and shape of the T-90 and how forgiving it is for aiming that even though the dish is in a fixed position and doesn't have a motor to move it I get Nimiq4 at 82w and Nimiq1 at 91w on the same LNB. LOL
