It'll scoot for sure, but that doesn't make it catch fish. LOL Although there is something to be said about increasing the waters you can fish in a given amount of time.

Sadly, I never took pictures of my boat, but here is an identical one, a 30' C&C with shoal draft keel (could go in very shallow water).

I was out sailing one Sunday afternoon and someone with a CS 30' (the competition sailboat company) was following me into port, and actually gaining on me. Knowing the entrance to the harbor had sunken concrete pilings to one side , I purposely sailed over them. He made an abrupt stop ON them. lol

Monday morning wasn't so good for him as his boat was in my company's shop for major repairs to the keel.

Ah, memories. :)

Price of marine fuel is a killer now, tho.

For sure Sneer, it had a chevy 350 with an 80 gallon tank and we could empty that in a day's cruising.

I have to bite my tongue, or I'd end up writing a book about boating experiences. chuckle

I must say there is an appeal to sail and power boats, and often a conflict between the two types of boaters. I really enjoy clipping through three foot chop in a cigarette type boat at 72 mph white knuckles on the windshield... when someone else pays for the fuel!

I've come to love the peace, serenity of the sail boat too. Waves softly lapping the hull, sails billowed out, h'orderves (sp) passed up from the galley. As with all boating, good friends, good booze, and most often, good weather.

I pity the the fool who has never boated, from a kayak to a cruise ship, it's one of those things that everyone should experience (once? lol).

cheers, sneers
