Wild Card Weekend------Cobra`s Picks

[The Cobra]

With much thanx to starter for posting the opening odds for this weekends games I`ll make some predictions for this weekend. I don`t know the present odds but they should be close at least.

Being that I`m bored and have nothing to do for a change I`ve decided to put my neck out there for you guys to chop off at will............LMAO
This is the way I see it this weekend.....

Sat Jan 8..
New Orleans Saints at Seattle Seahawks----BWAAAHHHHAAAA...Saints are favored by 10 and I don`t care that they have been inconsistent at times this year. They could be favored by 50 and I`d still bet them to cover, this is the playoffs. Saints will win this game as long as their plane lands safely in Seattle....bet Saints to cover the spread.

New York Jets at Indianapolis Colts-----tough one, Indy is favored by 3, they are at home, I hate Peyton Manning, Sanchez has been all over the charts this year----but I still like the "D" of the Jets. Will Manning throw on Darnell Revis?? or be relegated to working only one side of the field? I`m going with my heart/head on this one that the Jets defense will be strong and more important...their running game against the Colts will keep Manning off the field. If Sanchez does his job (don`t lose the game)--the Jets will win, but more important they`ll cover the 3 point spread.....bet the Jets to cover the spread-------------but not a lot LMAO

Baltimore Ravens at Kansas City Chiefs-----
BWAAAHHHHAAAA.. PT2----Ravens are favored by 2.5 and I`d have bet them if it was a type-O and it was 25. Look for the "D" of Baltimore to completely trash the Chiefs---again, it`s playoff time. From my view this is the easiest money in the playoffs this year.....bet the farm on the Ravens to cover 2.5 and much more.

Green Bay Packers at Philadelphia Eagles----
Philly are 2.5 point favs and that`s about right. This is going to be the toughest one to call maybe all year cause there are so many "what ifs". Green Bay should be the most feared team going in this year---they are capable of doing anything---but they are also capable of doing ...nothing. Both teams play the type of football that can blow out the other...it`s a matter of execution. For Philly to win, Vick will have to run a lot of delays ( screens, traps & draws ) to slow down the outside blitzes that you know Green Bay is going to employ. Vick HAS to stay healthy. Green Bay can win either on defense (big plays resulting from turnovers) or on Aaron Rogers arm-----key to this game will be Rogers or Vick staying healthy and that`s a crap shoot. Being that they are playing in Philly in front of the home crowd..I`m taking the Eagles to win........bet the Eagles to cover their 2.5 points in a squeaker.


Now we`ll see what a couple bad bounces/penalties/weather can do to what I think-----or just the fact I may be ----DEAD WRONG!! LOL

I hate Peyton (crybaby) Manning and when the games are close enough I`ll bet against him. Jets can run on Indy, thus keeping Manning on the bench where he can pout in peace. If Jets don`t run the ball well, Indy wins going away.

notice that .5 increase in the Indy game esp.....could play very big in winning your bet

Hope you`re right on the Packers` end anyway---I`d like to see Green Bay go all the way-----but in Philly? buy a bunch? I don`t think so..
That being said---BOTH teams are blowoutable (like that`s a word LOL) AND on any given day who knows? Healthy QB`s for both is the key. Close enough game for a stupid penalty to decide it.

It`s 24-17 Seahawks in one of the worst playoff games I`ve seen since Green Bay-Arizona of a couple years ago. Both teams scoring at will--no pass rush by either--my sister tackles better than these guys. A turnover now looms huge.

From what I saw today----neither of these teams deserved 4 hrs of playoff time on TV-----defense for both was non-existent to pathetic in their ability to tackle.

How do ya like that....I was too skittish to pick Seattle outright.

I think this was really cool. The team that everyone said should not be in the playoffs does a number on the Super Bowl champ. Upsets are great for the league and the fans....the expected becomes very boring.

Well ,"world" at least we got a great game tonite bud-----I`m now batting .500 with the Jets not only beating the spread but winning the game while they were at it. Great game that gave us all the excitement of what playoff football is supposed to be. I guessed a good game---went according to script, I freaked on that interception by Sanchez at the end of the first half when he gave away sure points that may have cost them the game. Sanchez didn`t lose the game---and that`s his job description. He missed wide open receivers all nite but when it counted most he came to play. Jets controlled the ball pretty much all the second half on the ground---keeping Manning on the bench. Good job Jets

Just a side note---think how devastating this team would be with a QB
