There is no quit in the Twitter battle between welterweights Andre Berto and Shane Mosley. A few weeks ago, the two boxers traded verbal jabs on Twitter. After a brief period of quiet time, the two of them traded a few more parting shots.
The tension began when both fighters were under consideration to face WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao on May 7 in Las Vegas. Berto doesn't agree with Pacquiao's decision to face a 39-year-old Mosley. And he doesn't agree with Mosley taking away an opportunity from a younger boxer.
"I am about to go in the bathroom and take a dump while lookin at this pic of old man [Shane Mosley]," wrote Berto.
"We all love [Shane Mosley], even though he looks like a slim Fred Sanford with a soul glow curl in his head."
Mosley threw back a few barbs of his own.
"Don't get mad at me because your [NFL] team [the Colts] got knocked off [by the Jets] like you would," Mosley wrote.
"By the time you fight anybody of note, we will all be the old!"
Online fans were trying to persuade former light heavyweight champion Antonio Tarver to break it up. He declined.
"They asked me to break you and Berto up, I said let em fight, it's good for the sport," Tarver wrote to Mosley.
