Washington, D.C. (January 6, 2011) -- Sony and Sports Illustrated are teaming to produce a 3D video of the 2011 Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue.
The video, which will premiere on February 15, the day the 2011 swimsuit issue is released, will be exclusively available for rental or purchase on Sony's Play Station Network video delivery service, or via Sony's 3D-compatible and net-enabled 2010 and 2011 Sony Bravia HDTVs and 2011 Sony Blu-ray disc players.
Ad Age reports that Sony will sell the 30-minute video for $4.99 as a rental and $7.99 as a purchase.

Get your goggles, guys.
Additionally, a free, three-minute sneak preview of the 3D swimsuit video will be available on the Play Station Network later this year.
"Just when you think the bar couldn't get any higher for the Swimsuit franchise, we've raised it once again with our partners at Sony," said Mark Ford, president of the Sports Illustrated Group. "Swimsuit in 3D has extraordinary potential and we're thrilled to deliver its millions of fans a new perspective through the exciting world of 3D video."
Sony is clearly hoping that the lure of watching swimsuit models in 3D will be enough to persuade reluctant consumers to buy the new 3D sets.
