That's according to an article by Multichannel News.
The publication reports that the initial 3D lineup will include Coraline, Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, Monsters vs. Aliens and Clash of the Titans.
The 3D movies will only be available to TV providers that offer HBO's VOD service in HD; DIRECTV recently added HBO's On Demand serivce, but in SD. The satcaster says it will add the HD edition in the first quarter of 2011.
Why is HBO getting into the 3D game, despite the disappointing sales numbers for 3D sets?
"Our feeling is that, while it's early, HBO subscribers tend to be early adopters," said HBO chief technology officer Bob Zitter, according to Multichannel news.
