Well after seeing NightProwler post about Dire Straits song I thought I would share this little tidbit as well.

I had a girl call here last night wanting me to look at her tower because she can't get on the internet. She said it turned on but she had to wiggle the cable to get it to connect. I told her she had a bad cable and needed to replace it, but OH NO she knew better and it wasn't the cable.

Ok so who am I to argue the fact she drops it off and then drops $50 in my lap because she got a bad cable so I said bring it over.

This evening I decided to hook it up and possibly replace a LAN card at most. Well went to plug th monitor in and no VGA port. She has it pushed inside the tower and her video is integrated on the mobo.

Possibility it might work with a new vid card and if I had a PCI card here I would give it a shot but I threw all that crap out 6 months ago.

I am guessing from what she told me she thinks when monitor comes on she is connected to the net. LOL

Damn I am glad tomorrow is Friday LOL

All this sounds like the first time I had purchased my second STB many moons ago.
Now not being a dummy I knew to set everything up with the power cord unplugged.
Programmed my card put the card in and amongst my great excitment to get the unit up and running, I turned the unit on and nothing. Called the store after 1/2hr of playing and swore the unit was defective.:tape:
While on the phone looking at my hook ups saw the power cord unplugged and tried to figure out how I was going to explain that one.
The only thing I could muster out of my yap to the clerk was my apologies it appears the cord fell out of the wall.:innocent:
Have never called a store regarding a purchase since.
