Hi rockband.
You should have no problem getting it. If you look at lyngsat maps.com you are in the same footprint as I am out here near Vancouver. I get it with a 36inch dish and a standard linear L N B F. A universal L N B F will also work.
Good luck

The Satbeams site says for you just north of Calgary that for Galaxy 3C - 95w for KU it calls for a 33" is minimum recommended.
It says the same size recommended for Vancouver BC.

Hi Rockband,
I am using a motorized 33" dish for Ku band here in Winnipeg, and I can pick everything up from 61.0W to 129.0W. I have been getting quality reading in the 90's on 95.0W. You shouldn't have any problems. Add a motor and enjoy a whole lot more.
Not much on 95 anymore Rockband. You would probably pick up a better selection with a 4° bracket & try for 101, or like Silverado a motor is the way to go

A motor is definitely the way to go, why scan in 2 sat positions when you can scan in almost 20 depending on your arc.

Any Chinese channels are still available on 95W?
There are 4 channels called CCTV...I believe they're Chinese
One more, Marcoview TV from Taiwan. Tp 12407H20000.

As Gold noted, The CC and Mac Tv are open but Atv, Pstv and Ptvn have gone encrypted again.

That tp info would require a universal lnb, are you sure your setting numbers are correct? I wasn't aware of Galaxy 3 having any tp on the higher part of the band.

I was getting 95w excellent with a 30" old *choice dish and *choice lnb ( high 80 quality signal) north of Edmonton. So a bigger dish and better quality lnb would definitely do so also.
95w (galaxy 3) has CCTV4, CCTV9, CCTV F, CCTV E, MAC TV. If you are looking for Chinese content
Galaxy 3 definitely has some.
Hi Costactc, some typo, should read as 12050 H 20000. It's on Galaxy 3 Ku. Sorry for the mistake.

No problemo, I was pretty sure you were referring to Mac Tv.

Try to point 95W Ku band for 3 hours, and still no luck at all. Is there a trick to catch them? Please advises, and thanks.
Hmm...We're probably gonna need a little more info to help you out.

Please post what stb and all equipment your using. 95w is one of the easiest of all the fta sats, signal quality always around 99% on my end.

Although people use universal lineal L N B F ‘s with success I personally like using a STANDARD lineal L N B F. I find them easer to set up also universal are not necessary in North America.
Bigger the dish the better. I use a 36-inch dish with a motor and have a few stationary dishes also. Have had great luck using old star choice dishes. Mostly the 30x33inch round type also 18x36 star choice elliptical the duel L N B F ones from star choice.
Make sure mast dish is on is perfectly plumb. Important.
I take a small TV and my receiver right out to the dish but what ever works for you.
You could have some one watch the screen as you adjust. no TV’s or receivers in the rain.
Point the dish to where you think satellite is. I use a compass I got at Canadian tire to point me in the right direction in the sky. Then adjust elevation (up/down) degs. The scales on the dish are never right but it gives you some were to start from for now.
Now move the dish left to right really slowly a 1/16 at a time stop then a 1/16 and stop give it a second, and so on or right to left what ever works for you watch you meter closely, go back and forth up and down SLOWLY working a grid pattern and you will find it. I have tuned in dozens of satellites using this method. Use small tiny adjustments or you will miss it. DON”T STAND IN FRONT OF THE DISH when adjusting it like I did once.
Once you get a signal go back and forth up/down till you get the best possible signal. Then you need to adjust the L N B skew this is done buy turning the L N B right or left.
I adjust my L N B buy turning it slowly on way till signal drops off then the other way till signal drops off and set it in the middle or the strongest signal.
Once you have done all this and nuts, bolts and screws are snugged up you would exit the antenna setup page say yes to save the settings. Next go to main menu then installation then Blind scan and do a blind scan for this satellite. It will scan all the tp’s on this satellite.
On my viewsat receiver in the antenna setup page I would set my L N B to standard because I use a standard linear L N B
L n b freq to10750
Lnb power on
22 khz0ff
Tp freq to a strong tp on the sat you’re trying for to tune in on
Diseqc off
Motor off
Legacy sw none
You will get something. This is a much weaker signal then bell or dishnet and living in Canada we are on the fringe as most of these satellites are amid at the states.

It’s a hobby!
Good luck

Yes It's a hobby. My wife and kids sometimes mad at me ,watching me all the time with remote control in the hand and diging for new chn's .lol.My hobby is from back in '92 in Europe.
BTW ,Rockband ,if you got already 97,then input TP 11780 H 20743 ,and turn 1/4-1/2 inch to left standing behind the dish/if its pointed at 97W/

LOL...my family never likes to be in the room when I'm blind scanning. My wife is afraid I'll use her for help aligning the dish or something:tehe:
