Well kids we`re a boring 4-4 against the spread in this year`s playoffs so it`s time to make up some ground.......

Jets-- Steelers,---line Steelers+3
Everyone knows this game will be a defensive war and a turnover or an official could very well be the difference in winning or losing. The Jets will try and run on the Steelers, but they won`t be able to thus putting Sanchez`s arm to the test. Normally I`d give a huge advantage to the Steelers in this situation but this year the Jets have a couple things going for them----Santonio Holmes and a very depleted Steeler defensive back corps. Look for the Jets to try and go with Holmes or Brayden Edwards head to head on an injured Polumalo. Like I said, turnovers will be huge and the Jets gobble them up....Big Ben has a habit of coughing the ball up trying for that extra yard. Will the Steelers fall into the same trap that the Colts did? Limiting themselves to playing offense on half a field by not throwing on the side of Revis......they will have to throw to Revis` side --most of the time that`s suicide.
So because neither team will run effectively, they`ll pass the ball. Because of the injured Steeler defensive backs that`s a big plus for the Jets if Sanchez does his job (don`t lose the game) and plays within himself the Jets will win.

Packers- Bears...
It`s gonna be freakin` cccccooooolllldddd in the land of Da Bears. Those of us that have grown up in a city of the old "black & blue" division know one thing---never bet on these games. No matter what the experts say, the odds makers say, no matter what place they are in these games often end up as a dogfight ending 6-3,9-6, 10-7 for either team. This game won`t be any different--it`ll be a war and count on both Cutler and Rogers getting messed up on Sunday. Rogers is a lot more mobile than Cutler and doesn`t seem to panic into bad throws---and that will be the difference. So I`m taking the Packers to take a close game for 3 quarters to blow it open in the 4th quarter for a seemingly easy win----but it won`t be.
Best way to put it---look out Cutler...............

Let`s not forget kids---both games will be played in the freezing cold and we all know that frozen fields and frozen balls can make for a lot of strange bounces. Field position will play huge in both games today as each offense will try to keep the others` defense on the field as long as possible. In these kind of games the team that can pass on a frozen field has the decided difference----the receivers at least know where they are going on their routes. Watch for blitzes to come from up the middle --not around the ends as it`s harder to make the cut on the frozen turf. Lastly look for the injuries of the Steelers`s secondary to take their toll in the cold and if Sanchez can option out it`ll be a long day for that defense.
Hopefully---it won`t be an official that decides the game like last week in Pittsburg and hopefully we`ll get to watch some old time football at it`s best between four great defenses.
