Junior welterweight Marcos Maidana (29-2, 27KOs) has taken a few more stabs at WBA 140-pound champion Amir Khan (24-1, 17KOs) of England. Last month they battled back and forth in a bout that won "Fight of The Year" honors from the Boxing Writers Association of America. Khan won a close twelve round decision. Maidana has made allegations that Khan is a cheap boxer who offers low compensation to his opponents. If Khan makes the right offer, Maidana will travel to England for a rematch.
Khan is slated to return on April 16 in Manchester. No opponent has been set but several possible foes have complained about the money being offered by Khan and his team.
"Amir Khan should be less ambitious and think big. And I would then go to England to finish where I left off with him in Las Vegas. Khan speaks nonsense, as usual. He's selfish and offers crumbs to his opponents. He want to be the only one to make good money," Maidana was quoted to have said by Roger Grenta.
