View Full Version : Hh90
Got a HH90, invacom & s9 box.
Set them up yesterday (mild temp) with 30" dish going with "dishpointer" numbers:
"Stab HH90
Distance: 37692km
Motor Latitude: 42.3°
Declination Angle: 6.5°
Dish Elevation: 38°
Azimuth (true): 180.0°
Azimuth (magn.): 187.4° "
The map from STAB company gives me the same #'s only dish elev=38.5
Tried both and nothing is coming on 83w,97w,101w.
Tilting the dish to 41.5 as for non motorized dish got 83w but nothing on 97w, 101w.
Any ideas ? Thx.

What is your LONGITUDE ,acording Dishpointer??
P,S. 30 inch is little a bit small for 83 ,even for 97 and 101
83, got these sats with this 30" but no motor.
I also get now 97 & 101 with old *choice.

How did you mount the motor and dish?
The mounting mast has to be absolutely vertical left to right, front to back to work right, if not then you will miss satellites as you pan off of due south.

If your LOngitude is 83 ,then set the motor on ZERO and try to find 83w ,then the rest birds should be OK .Also need perfect mast
use TP
11735H4440 for 83 w -it;s RTV and TUFF

I'll past too
When I first set mine up, I had the QPH-031...I used only the L port of the LNB & no switch...
My cable went from the receiver, to the motor, to the L port on the LNB. I found all my linear sats first
Once I did that, I then found all my Circular sats by removing the cable from the L port to the C port. Then I installed my 22KHz switch & edited my receiver menu for the switch.
Setting up a motor for the first time is a little confusing.
I was just testing the motor, invacom & s9 box for functionality while the weather was mild. Now is cold.
Yes, cable from L port only to the motor.
What I do not understand is "declination angle: 6.5°". Where is this fitting in ?
And why is the morized dish elevation 38° and 41.2° for fixed dish ?

No prob,
Your dish elevation & your motor setting are totally different.
Set your motor to 42° & tighten the bolts...This will not be adjusted
Your dish will have the angle set to 31.5° (theoretically)
This figure came from
Dish Elevation: 38°
minus
Declination Angle: 6.5°
equal 31.5
This may or may not need adjusting
Set your motor to zero
Find your true south & get the highest possible Q you can get.
edit
You may have to move it a little off 31.5° you may not, but you will probably have to move it right or left. When looking for your true south make sure your LNBF is straight up & down. The motor does the skewing
What is your true south?
According to dishpointer:
Name: True South / True North
Distance: 37692km
Motor Latitude: 42.3°
Declination Angle: 6.5°
Dish Elevation: --°
Elevation: 41.2°
Azimuth (true): 180.0°
Azimuth (magn.): 187.4°
Where on the Clark Belt is that 83 - 85?

I find the print out from "GO SAT FINDER " Is more detaled and easyer to use thin "DISH POINTER" Everyone I have set up I give thim a printout for their sat settings ,and it works out well for them . The detaled images seem to be easeyer to follow .
