After 256 regular season games, four wild-card games, four divisional games, two conference championships, this is it.
The 45th Super Bowl, from Cowboys Stadium, in Dallas, Texas. This is it!
I anticipate that the Green Bay Packers are going to make the effort to start fast on offence, spreading Pittsburgh out and attack with Aaron Rodgers in control, trying to create a magical rhythm with a short passing game, and only going for a kill shot after first level success.
Right now I don't think there is a better throwing quarterback than Aaron Rodgers. His velocity, accuracy and quick release make it difficult for a pass rush and coverage at the same time.
I also think that even though Green Bay is an outdoor team, playing at Lambeau Field, they are built to have success in a dome. The controlled environment of magnificent Cowboys Stadium is a Packer advantage.
Pittsburgh, I anticipate, will take an opposite approach - they want to make this a battle of physical, punishing play. If Rashard Mendenhall can run of rover 100 yards, Pittsburgh can win. The Steelers are starting their sixth and eighth best offensive linemen, respectively, and, although right tackle Flozell Adams is a proven pro, this could be a game where the backups do not pass the test.
I look for Pittsburgh to use two and even three tight end sets and attack the perimeter of the Green Bay defensive line. Time of possession is always important in football and if the Steelers dominate time of possession it will go a long way to winning this game.
When these two teams played in Week 15 of the 2009 season, both quarterbacks were amazing in throwing performance, but I think Green Bay has mastered their style of defence more right now as compared to back then.
Also, I am not sure if Troy Polamalu is healthy. You don't see him around the line of scrimmage as much as you did earlier in the season. Pittsburgh are playing their safeties deep to take away the big play, not forcing the play, which is not their strength.
The coaches, coordinators, quarterbacks and leaders on both teams are all well educated in making all the right game-day decisions.
This Super Bowl comes down to execution of designed plays over and over and over. Who will be the best on Sunday?
I think it will be the Green Bay Packers winning by three, covering the 2.5 points.
The Green Bay Packers, Super Bowl Champions 2011.
Final score: Packers 23, Steelers 20
Cobra....
Thru the regular season I don`t agree much with this chump but when we get to the playoffs I find myself agreeing more and more with him. His analysis on what each team brings to the table and what each has to do to win are dead on the money. So I`ll agree with him----except the final score which is what it`s all about anyway. He`s got the right score but the wrong teams---Steelers 23 ---Pack 20. Hope I`m wrong...Go Pack !!!
