Holyfield said. "I need a convincing victory to put myself back in line for another shot at the world title".....
just how many times has this guy been hit in the head anyway?? World Title?? You know what---give it to him, let him in the ring with either Klitschko and we`ll end this goofy saga once and for all when Holyfield is carried out on a stretcher and transported to the morgue. I`m getting increasingly agitated at what boxing is expecting us to buy into.

as per TSN

COPENHAGEN, Denmark -- Former heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield has postponed his bout with Denmark's Brian Nielsen.

Promoter Kalle Sauerland said Thursday the March 5 fight has been moved back to May 7 to allow Holyfield more time to recover from injury.

The 48-year-old Holyfield (43-10-2) was cut above the left eye by an accidental head butt during his fight last month with Sherman Williams. The bout was ruled a no-contest.

In a statement released Thursday by Sauerland, Holyfield said he "could not do sparring until the end of the month" following medical advice.

"I will not enter the ring against a determined opponent like Nielsen when I am not 100 per cent prepared," Holyfield said. "I need a convincing victory to put myself back in line for another shot at the world title, so I will give the cut enough time to heal before resuming practice."

Sauerland, who is Nielsen's promoter, said he and the Danish fighter fully understood Holyfield's decision.

"Always look on the bright side of life," Nielsen said in the statement. "The more training I get, the stronger I will become."

The Dane vowed Holyfield will get "a nice souvenir from his trip to Copenhagen. I will cut his other eye, too. He will be good friends with the doctor he has been seeing."

Nielsen, 45, retired in 2003 after an 11-year pro career that included a loss to Mike Tyson in 2001. The Dane has a record of 64-2, with 43 knockouts.

The venue for the May 7 fight will remain the same concert hall in Copenhagen, Sauerland said.

I guess you have not been keeping up to date with boxing news these days. There is a "breaking news" that is circulating around the world. I am not sure where it originated but it has been associated with Simon Cowell. It seems that Simon and Ryan Seacrest bumped into Lennox Lewis and Larry Holmes at a Mexican resort. Sharing some nachos and tequilas, they engaged into an animated discussion about their careers. Larry apparently is still bitter that while he won a title, he never got "respect". Lewis echoed the same thing.

Being the creative TV producers Simon and Ryan are, they were quick to suggest something. Simon asked, "What do old professional golfers do when they can no longer compete on the tour?" Ryan replied, "Well, they are sent to pasture!" They had a blast about that. Lewis corrected Ryan, "No they go and play the SENIOR TOUR."

Apparently, this peaked the interest of both boxers and suggested to Simon that they should put together a SENIOR BOXING IDOL contest. They figure they could get a lot of participants: Buster Douglas, Mike Tyson, Evander, Tony Tucker, Rey Mercer, just to name a few.

Evander got wind of the plan and decided, he would be the first SENIOR BOXING IDOL.

Now you know where he is coming from.

This is breaking news from the AQUA BROADCASTING NETWORK.

Who says that they will be "boxing"? Simon says that if Tyson wants to compete in the SB idol, he must leave his choppers (false teeth) at home. Gumming someone's ears would not be as bad.
