So my mother in law is very computer illiterate. She wants to copy all her pictures and videos from her camera to a disk so they don't get lost.... Is there an easy (and free) program I can download for her that's simple to use? or an easy program on windows 7.
thanx
Oh ya, I have a bunch of blank DVD+R disks... Will these work?

For simply saving backups you can just drag and drop them to the pc. Then you could burn them to disk with any burning software. Most cameras have a management program that will copy them to your computer when you connect them- or m$ camera and scanner wizard automatically starts when there's no program.
What type of camera, and how does it save (ie. memory disk, dvd disk, or something else) because you may just take the media out and plug it into the pc- which is generally faster than the camera.

Thanx wildman.... I think I got it, I'm at her house right now and copied the media to her PC. then I'm using "power2go" to copy them to a disk. Seems to be working fine :)

Did everything go well? If so, I would suggest keeping 2 dvd copies in case moisture or something happens to the first. Making a direct copy from the dvd should be simple enough :).
