Glenn Beck criticizes Steelers, Packers for anthem participation


Glenn Beck scolded members of the Green Bay Packers and Pittsburgh Steelers for showing what he claimed was a lack of patriotism.

Beck, an outspoken conservative talk-show host, criticized players for not placing their hands over their hearts during the national anthem.
Said Beck, on his radio show:

"Was anybody else offended by...can you put your hand on your heart? It's the national anthem!

"I mean, my son, Raphe -- we were sitting here, and he's talking. I'm like, 'Shhhh. Put your hand on your heart.'

"... I was really offended by the sports players that were just hanging on their jersey.

"... The country that gives them the ability to...pursue their happiness in peace and safety is not worth putting your hand on the heart."

Christina Aguilera's singing of the national anthem drew attention when she sang the wrong words at parts of the song. She later apologized and said she meant no disrespect.

Public displays of unity are terrific. Hand over the heart, stiff arm up in the air,obligatory prayers where individual performance is forbidden.

This is what we need at every public event. Mandatory hand on heart and all MUST perform daily ablutions and recite 95 times the following: "Glorified be the United States, the land of peace and freedom."

I don't know about you but I'm emailing my senator. We need a new Federal law that makes this mandatory. You can't have freedom unless you have a law that enforces it. Isn't this right Mr. Beck? :tehe:
