I need to put a new video card in my old Compaq. On the side of the Compaq theres a tag that reads ddr and when I put new memory in I made sure to put ddr. ?? Will it work if I put a ddr2 video card in it or will it have to be a ddr ? Not a lot to pick from with just a ddr.
As all ways thanks for all and any help....................

Replacing the ram or memory ..has to be the right one..as you did .
Replacing the video card...just has to be the right type ..as to AGP or pci slot...and so on. To match the MB .
The type of ram used (or memory ) on video card will have no bearing on install..other than with new type will be faster .
What you want to do ..is check with the manufacture ..there site...of what maybe compatible . Most older one may have trouble recognizing new hardware in some cases .
All so driver compatibility for your o/s
As long as the video card matches the slot on board..you should be ok .
