Looks like they are in talks to be taken over. If it happens what if any would be the ramifications for those of us who like to test this fine product?

C/P:

If you think you've had trouble getting ahead over the past 10 years, consider poor AT&T. AT&T is not only not getting ahead, it's actually falling behind, at least according to the numbers it reports. As of year-end 1993, AT&T says, its net worth was just $13.9 billion, down from $14.4 billion on Jan. 1, 1984. That, of course, is the day the old Bell System was broken up into AT&T and seven regional phone companies.
Even worse, AT&T's reported net worth per share - which many investors consider a crucial number - has declined a whopping 20 percent since the Bell breakup. No, that's not a misprint. AT&T showed a net worth of $10.24 per share at year-end 1993.
All I have found so far is that D* is around 10 billion , with shares around 37.50 per share
