I own an RV park and want to distribute wireless over the property. I am familiar with DD-WRT and Tomato and have multiple n & g routers. I am only looking to recoup my costs, although it could be a potential profit centre if there is no problem with bandwidth.
Here is what I am planning:
Run MLPPP through multiple DSL lines to a Linksys router flashed with DD-WRT, Tomato or Open WRT (QoS enabled and configured).
Flash standard config DD-WRT to multiple routers to act as repeaters/client bridges connecting to the MLPPP enabled router.
Here's where I could use the input...
Since I would prefer not to utilize 3rd party Hot Spot billing and at the same time maintain network integrity (no leeching), I am thinking that I would turn off DHCP at the MLPPP router and assign static IPs internally based on the MAC address of the individual devices and those addresses being part of an Access List (wireless encryption may be used simply as an added precaution via password).
Logically this should work and logistically speaking, provisioning should not be an issue assuming I monitor and regularly clear the nvram.
Any thoughts or suggestions?
