Did Floyd Mayweather Lose His Confidence?
Published by Scoop Malinowski on February 14th, 2011

Floyd Mayweather told the world he is the greatest fighter ever, his undefeated record proves it.

But when it comes time to fight Manny Pacquiao, Floyd Mayweather is quiet as a mouse. Until, Pacquiao signs to fight someone else, then Floyd comes out and talks some of his worthless bulljive and nonsense.

Shane Mosley, like everyone else in-the-know, put it best. If Floyd wanted to fight Pacquiao, he’d be fighting him.

Clearly Floyd, underneath the cocky front he masquerades, must be freaked out and spooked by what Manny Pacquiao is accomplishing and how he is doing it.

Despite his own outstanding, though perhaps overrated achievements, Floyd is lacking confidence to match his skillset against Pacquiao’s.

Which is strange because so many highly respected boxing world figures actually believe Mayweather can defeat Pacquiao. Tomasz Adamek, Don King, Mike Tyson, Emanuel Steward, Wladimir Klitschko, Bernard Hopkins, Oscar De La Hoya, Juanma Lopez, Zab Judah, Sergio Martinez all believe Mayweather has the essential attributes to defeat Pacquiao.

You would think that the boxing IQ of that collective field of pugilstic genius would be enough alone to pump Floyd up and spark him into action, aside from the the enormous payday that is there waiting to be earned.

Yet for almost two years now we have seen no action, just empty, fake words from Floyd Mayweather about fighting Manny Pacquiao.

What in the world could have happened to the confidence in the mind of 41-0 Floyd Mayweather, the pound for pound Picasso, the greatest boxer in the history of the sport, superior even to Muhammad Ali and Ray Robinson?

Is he secretly so in awe of Manny Pacquiao that he is 100% totally psyched out and completely psychologically destroyed? It’s entirely possible.

There is an old analogy about dogs which may illustrate what has happened between the psychological chasm between Pacquiao and Mayweatherth. It relates to the alpha male of the wolfpack. When the alpha male of the wolfpack senses and comes to the realization that there is a new alpha male in his pack, his behavioral instincts perform a very strange and unexpected action.

Instead of confronting and fighting the new challenger to his alpha male status of domination and leadership, the once mighty sad old wolf instead backs down and voluntarily leaves his pack to the new alpha male without even putting up a contest. The mentally defeated dog leaves the pack with tail between legs, forfeiting his alpha male status by default.

Is this not what is happening between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather in the sport of boxing today? The former face of boxing has departed the sport without even putting up a fight to hold off the challenge of the new alpha male Manny Pacquiao, who now reigns supreme as the undisputed leader, ultimate champion and the new face of boxing.

Meanwhile, Floyd Mayweather hides away in virtual silence, unsure and confused about what he should do next. And wondering, deep in his heart of hearts, what has happened to his confidence, despite the support and faith of such disappointed backers as Tyson, Klitschko, Adamek, Judah, De La Hoya, Lopez, Martinez, Hopkins, King and Steward who all believe he can actually defeat Manny Pacquiao

Doesn`t matter who thinks he can beat Manny-------------if PBF doesn`t, he can`t--it`s that simple.
