All you should have to do is:
-Connect your Cable/DSL modem to the WAN/Internet port on the back of the router with an ethernet cable

-Connect any wired devices to the LAN ports on the router

-On any connected computer, open up your web browser and type the IP address of your router in the address bar.... Then enter the default username/password

-Configure the router, you'll need to enter your ISP's connection information including username and password for DSL connections. You'll also set up security in the admin console, this is a must to prevent unauthorized use of your network. Also change the administrator password.

-Each wireless device will then need to be configured to access the network, you'll need to enter the SSID and security code that you set up in the admin console.

You need at least one wired computer in that case, and internet connection sharing enabled on that computer. You would then set up the router as an access point.

There are now routers on the market specifically for users of mobile internet sticks, they have a USB port for the stick right on the router.
