Brodeur become new NHL leader for minutes played

Sat Nov 28, 11:58 AM

BOSTON (AFP) - Martin Brodeur set the National Hockey League's record for most minutes played by a goaltender by making 32 saves in the New Jersey Devils 2-1 win over Boston.

The top goaltender for the Canadian national team surpassed Patrick Roy's mark of 60,235 minutes and the Devils won the game in a shootout.

It was the second consecutive victory for New Jersey, who are 10-2-1 on the road.

One of Brodeur's best saves was a stop on Marc Savard with just under four seconds left in the third period. He allowed just one goal in the shootout.
