Hello my friend,
First I moved your post to your own thread. This thread will be dedicated to getting you the best help we can.

I believe that your LNB is where your trouble lies.
SES 1 is a Linear Satellite & need a different LNB. You need a standard Linear LNB with a frequency.

Like this

hxxp://www.galaxy-marketing.com/ESX521-ku-band-fta-free-to-air-lnb-lnbf.htm.

In your receiver menu the settings will be Standard for LNB with a frequency of 10750

The linear lnb you list should work. The Coolsat would be the best to use for true FTA. Keep in mind that you can use the DTV dish you have, but the round dishes made for true FTA will always give better performance to pull in linear signals.

Any linear lnb should be mounted in the center of the dish to get the best signal.

Is there a local distributor in NW Chicago Illinois??????????.
Ive searched high and low and the closeted one i found was 250+ miles away that carrie 30-39 inch dishes.

dsisystemsinc.com possibly but they were in the presses of "moving" iffy
so I found one on craiglist new from direct tv///?//

Is bigger better say 39 inch, 36inch 33 or 30 inch?

There was a lot posted there. :)

You might consider looking at sadoun.com. They've been in business a long time. They're in Columbus, OH

I now have the """" P170+ LNB """"
from what I understand is a "lenera"

now I think that its the programing im having issue with
since it shows the signal at times both over 90% when scanning.
-but the satellite when i search shows 87% but it doesn't save the amc-4 to its list,
it goes back to the 37*w satellite in its programing
some how i can not save the settings,
or maybe add multiple satellites (in the future)

Please no live links. Nfusions do not make the best stbs for true FTA. That's why I suggested the Coolsat. :)

that would have been my second choice,
choosing sadoun.com
my first supposed to be "radio marija" / "tv-trwam"
a Catholic place
but a lady i wanted to do this for wanted top of the line
which i thought was Nfusion HD
better choose would have been sonicvew 8000?
i wanted hdmi, pvr, vhf/uhf connections

plan "c" turned out to be e-bay
I thought this would have been so much more easier
but the FTA ordeal turned out to be a qiet complex

very similar was the vhf/uhf antenna
I wanted two separate whiskers isolated from each other
well none of the internet graffiqies had a good picture
so I went with Winegard HD8200U
It had what i wanted but bit more plastic that i would have liked

The cheapest alternative for a remote is mxmart. The ROC v2 is $10 and will work for the CS7k and many others too.

The top of the line HD box is the AZBox Premium Plus. The nFusion HD is a very poor FTA receiver.
An excellent cheaper FTA receiver is the Openbox S9. It's HD & has terrific blind scan capabilities

sokul1,

The world direct dish "using linear lnb" is fine for getting the channels you want here in Chicago.I am successfully using a smaller dish (32.5" x 22.5") and receiving those channels fine with a viewsat ultra.Trwam & radio maryja are on the following tp.

12120V
S/R-30000
Fec-3/4

I see that when scanning my nFusion HD or Nfusion Nova
(Coolsat 7000 micro-PVR-remote is on its way).
I get both bars at or above 90%. but still no list of channels.
or satellites that that should be locked in?
one.
I ether don't know how to program with the (flicker) remote control?
two.
my firmware is not the correct one?
or
three.
theirs something else Im not doing?

I'm not familiar with the Nova, but on the NFHD you will need to manually enter the current transponders, then rescan.

This list is not the most up to date but it is the best there is.

I seems that in order for me to watch
tv-trwam -------AMC 4 - 101° WEST - SES 1

i need to have my tp set on
12120 v 30000

I do and many others are set on tp...
but the signal I get from this is the first bar only at about 87%

some on 103w are at 90%

but both have no second straighten indication on the second bar ,,NFHD & Nfusion Nova

now on the NFHD I i pressed continuously f5 and its stuck on the $ preview and it wont move
a while back i remember scanning and I got many paid channels and one direct tv instructional video
now I don't have any

totally lost
any advice?

I don think i know how to store the amc4 / ses1 into the file in the programmable memory om my NFHD or nova?

What settings are you using on the dish?

Elevation-?
Skew-?

sokul1
03-09-2011, 08:39 PM
Elevation-40 degrees (up)
Skew-98degrees (tilted)
LNBF +14.3 degrees rotation
magnetic compass reading 202 degrees
60090 zip per: dishpointe & geosatfinder

panek75

I am not sure how the world direct dish skew plate is numbered and were zero skew is at but you need to turn the dish "like a steering wheel" 14.3 degrees clockwise.

It's been a while since I messed with a NFHD, but you need to get into your Antenna menu, select AMC4...
DiSEqC settings (?) Need to know if you have any switches.
Select TP by highlighting it & click ok. In this menu you can add or edit TP's
Add 12020 H 30000 QSPK Auto
click ok
Add 12060 H 26700 QSPK Auto
click ok
Add 12120 V 30000 QSPK Auto
click ok
When you have "quality" or a green bar peak your dish to the highest possible percentage, & scan

Don't worry about signal strength so much you want to focus on "Quality"

ill wait til i get my *****Spacelab DSM-3022 DIGITAL SATELLITE METER****
than do a little dancing wit the dish....
hopefully it in deed identifies the birds!!!!!!iiiii

while Ill sip on little, aquavit?

I got the dish new with paper work and it has some specification on a paper that came with

it.
--"USA aliment chart for Satellite @95 west longitude"--
36" multi-satellite antenna assembly manual for directtv 95*w/101*w
por brand international inc model 36dshr0-02

determining my lat. long (latitude and logetude my skew would have to be at 98 degrees.
so on the this if in standing in 'back' of the dish I turned the dish clock wise 8 degres.
90 degrees is the perpendicular and parallel dead center.
than hxxp://www.geosatfinder says that I should go to the 'front' of the dish
and turn the linear lnb counter clock wise (+14.03 degrees)
****and now!!!ii satbeams.com tells me to Elevation angle:39.7°xoxox LNB Tilt (skew):-13.8°

oh boy am i in trouble
no?
