By Jim Dower: 38-year-old Ricardo Mayorga has reportedly retired following his 12th round knockout loss to WBA junior middleweight champion on Saturday night at the MGM Grand, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Hopefully, Mayorga will change his mind because he fought remarkably well and was competitive throughout against what some people think is the best fighter in the junior middleweight division.

He only got payed 50,000 for the fight and thats without paying the corner. It seems he has a lot of personal issues going on.Likes always after all the rant he apologized for it to cotto.Thats his way of trying to sell the fight.

Mayorga didn't fight all that bad.But the left hook took him down in the 12th.Cottos face looked really red and swollen but he did not bleed this time.Decent enough fight!

I liked the part when he complained of the pain in the hand after getting knocked out.The replay shows he hand was fine before getting hit.It seems he wanted to exit the fight standing up instead of being humiliated by being koed.
