I just got a new Acer laptop, 17"3, blue ray, I5, 1TG hard disk, 1G ATI videocard... just beautiful. Actually, I had gift cards from staples and they had a special at $799, just perfect. But on my (almost) perfect pc, I checked the drivers, and Uniblue told me 12 should be updated. I searched on cnet.com, and found a free updater. I tried, and the laptop turned black, just black... I tried plugging it in another screen, nothing. So, I had to do a system recovery. Not a drama, because in 2 days, I did not put much in the pc. But I still would like do update my drivers, and am scared to mess it up again.
Does anyone know of a free trial at least, which would enable you to update without destroying the computer? iyogi works, but I seem to be unable to enter it on the computer.
Thank you.
