Not sure if this is the best place to post this, but if not, I'm sure it will get legs....LOL

I just received a Vonets wifi Bridge; Ebay in the $25 to $30 range.

Works great and is very simple. It came with a mini cd that sets up a small (2.5MB) config utility on your pc. plug the Vonets in to your pc, and run the config utility. It searches for networks and lists what was found. You then select a network and it senses the encryption, if any, automatically sets for the encryption (wep, wpa etc) and the only thing required from the user is the network password; hit next and your done. This is like a 30 second setup, very simple, those who have problems setting up networks should have no problems here.

After set up, just plug the Vonets into anything with a rj45 jack and your connected. I should mention it has usb plug it uses for power, but if usb is not available, it has a dc port and will run off a wall wart putting out 5 to 15 volts dc.

Hope this helps those considering this device

I bought two to replace my kids linksys WET54G bridges. They work fine and at half the price.

I lost one of my vonets today as it stopped Xmitting. Popped the case off and there is not much that can be serviced (2 transistor and one IC could probably be changed). Was still showing as receiving a signal (lite), I could still program it but there was no lamp indication on xfer and nothing showed on a couple of sniffer programs.

Btw I was using a separate power supply on each unit.

That is too bad loosing 1, I swear these are the greatest, never lost 1 yet, using 4 for many applications. These are the pre runners of the nanosat wifi being raffled off now.
