1957 Sandwich Menu from Woolworths....
If anyone doubts what we paid for a coke and a sandwich at Woolworths
in the 1950s, here's proof of the era we lived in.

The dollar went a long way back then. There weren't as many dollars around though. :) I'm not quite old enough to remember those prices. I do remember when Woolworth's closed with sadness.
Woolworth is still in business in the U.S., though not in the same way. It is now known as Footlocker.

Well that brings back memories as a young kid I'd go there and have a bite to eat after my hockey game still in my hockey equipment lol sandwich and a shake 75 cents went a long way but that pretty much blow my allowance.

I ordered a lot of stuff off that menu, the chocolate malted milks were a great heat buster during the summers.
I remember some even served breakfast, their ham and eggs with a bottomless cup of coffee was 60 cents.

Talk about memories, I actually worked at the lunch counter in Woolworths, not in the fifties but the early 60ties. That was a long time ago......

We had a Woolworth's and a V.J. Elmore's almost side by side in the pre-Walmart days. That was back when our downtown area was more than just lawyer's offices. That is all that is where those stores were now. :)
