oven door locks

amana range with clean lock and door locks and wont unlock,comes on and wont open until i shut the breaker off and reset, is this a thermostat

It stays locked for a long time until it's finished in clean mode. it could also be the lock relay

All self cleaning ovens that I have used, have manual locking leavers. The won't unlock until the temp is below a fixed level. I think ours is about 50 degrees C.

One of our kids locked the oven when we were baking a turkey and panic set in. Turned the oven off and had to wait for it to cool down.

Is this what happens with yours?

No the oven could be off for days ,if itis locked ihave to unplug and can open till it locks again
