In the aftermath of the boxing upsets of last weekend, I have been looking for some news tidbits that would stimulate some interest and discussion before the next big fight in May...

Not much of a surprise to me my friend that you also agree with the "stats" that say PBF "can" beat Pacman. I`m in full agreement as well. But WOULD/WILL he is another question isn`t it? "stats" can`t measure pure will or heart of a fighter, once someone is in the ring and the bell sounds ... often, with great fighters, something more comes out of that corner than just a man.

Ah, its great to hear from you. It means that the "jammer" has been put out of business!
Indeed you said it well. Stats are good "on paper" and PBF's stats are almost flawless but as we have just witnessed at last Saturday's upsets (and perhaps Kirkland's KO, as well) there are those immeasurable factors called the elements of success: DESIRE, DETERMINATION, DEVOTION, and COMMITMENT (failure is not an option). With these elements, you can throw statistics out the window as they would not stack up.
Pacquiao enters the ring with a smile and a truckload of DDDC's. It is enough to instill fear and intimidation on an opponent. The way he has been mowing down his sparring partners, almost knocking them out, he will give Mayweather another reason on May 7 to back out of any plan to get in the ring with him.

Like I said before pal............I`ll believe it when---they are both in the ring AFTER the anthems are played and the bell goes. If this fight ever takes place mindset at the outset will probably determine the winner.

I would challenge the adjective he used about Floyd being rich.
From Forbes .com
Through his 14-year career he's earned an estimated $200 million from purses and pay-per-view revenue (boxing is his only significant source of income).

LOL...no problem! Use of such superlative adjective is highly subjective!!!! Whoever described his financial status expresses personal opinion. Besides, while he may have earned substantial sum from his boxing career, what is left of it today (current networth) is subject to speculation. Anyone who does not pay taxes that are due has questionable financial ability. Thus, I would have a hard time believing that he is "extremely rich" under these circumstances.
Bill Gates and Steve Jobs are extremely rich. Warren Buffet is extremely rich. With Pacquiao's current networth, he is extremely rich by Philippine Standards!

I'm a poor man, extremely rich is anyone with one mill or more. All mentioned here are filthy rich yet you forgot to mention the richest, a latino named Carlos Slim. Comparing Floyd to these gentlemen is like comparing Pacman with Henry Sy, Lucio Tan or even another(spanish heritage) filipino Jaime Zobel de Ayala.

Yes,,, extremely rich is all relative,, compared to what? I agree with that.
Speaking of the richest man in the world... Carlos Slim.. there is only ONE telephone company in Mexico, and yes,,,, Carlos Slim owns it. He also owns Cemex...
the largest cement maker in the world... I see his trucks all over the place here... You eat Oroweat bread? He owns that and most of the bakeries you buy your
bread from... I think he is going to buy Aeromexico.... quite a man.... i dont know how much he gives to charities... but must be alot...
He lives in the center of Mexico City.. Just opened a brand new museum there...
Hard to believe he is richer than Bill Gates,, or the oil barons in the petro countries, but he is.
Anyway,,, didnt mean to get sidetracked on the thread... but i guess if you are unemployed and have been foreclosed and your unemployment compensation
has been exhausted, and your neighbor is still working and has his home and eats well,,, then he is filthy rich!
Its like life,,, all relative.

Hehehe! Talking about "relative' or "relativity", an Indian friend of mine once said: (And you have to hear this with the proper accent) "Beauty is relative. Therefore......
....... all my relatives are beautiful!"
Happy Easter, everyone!

There was a time when I could have everything I wanted...and paid cash. I changed cars more often than I changed shorts. The faster the rat race was, the more I accelerated. I thought I was happy. Then my world came crashing down and lost it all. I almost ended up the way Arturo Gatti ended his life. Yup, Fibroso might be poor but I was penniless - less than $25 in my back account, no home, nothing. At the bottom of my pit, I got a note from my Dad. He said, "Son I trust in you and your ability to rise up from your predicament." I cried and said a prayer, "God, I messed up and no longer know how to take care of my life; You take care of me."
I gave up aspiring to make millions. Instead, I found a million ways to make a difference in people's, especially children, lives. I worked for absolutely nothing. Yet, I found happiness waking up each morning. I still do. It has been more than 17 years when I was transformed from having nothing to being extremely rich - not in material wealth, but in spirit, in health, and in many wonderful ways I never imagined. I am a living testimony of the power of faith and I have my mom and dad, and the Man whose resurrection we celebrate today to thank for that.

We both know by experience there`s not a more uplifting, enriching thing to do in life than to work with kids for nothing more than the smiles on their faces and the gratitude in their hearts--------------great post as usual my good friend.
