Hello!

I've been messing around with my satellites today trying to get 110&119. My current setup is 2 dual LNB's on an elliptical dish and I'm on 82&91. This is the bracket I have.

http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a1da03b3127ccefcb809e7d87f00000030O00BcMWTlqybsw e3nwM/cC/f%3D0/ps%3D50/r%3D0/rx%3D720/ry%3D480/

Im not sure if the 119 LNB should be flush with the 110 LNB or not - its a little offset right now. How do I go about finding both sats? Which one should I find first?

I looked on satcalculator and it tells me that I have to adjust the dish a bit. Is this necessary with a elliptical?

Much Thanks!

Both lnbs have to be flush with the bracket . I you are currently gettin 82/91 you will have to move the dish 28 degrees west and lower it slightly .

Get a lock on 110 first - 119 will come in by simply skewing the dish ( standing from behind the dish turn right)

You can look at dishpointer.com for coordinates .

Thanks for the reply Stan. I just tried to get this working, I think I'm close but not working just yet. I removed my 119 LNB from the bracket and found 110 on Port 2 with 85 Strength/85 Quality. I re-attached the 119 LNB, and started to skew the dish (turning clockwise when standing from behind) but left elevation the same. I cannot pick up 119 on port 1. Is it just a matter of tweaking? or do I have to change the elevation or azimuth?

According to dishpointer, I should skew 117 degrees, which on the back of my dish would be a counter clockwise turn instead of clockwise. But neither seem to work.

Your problem is probably the tp that you're trying to find 119 on - if it's 12224 it wont work - try 12297 .

I think I have to tweak it a bit..I can see the Q jumping abit. But after locking onto 110, should I leave azimuth and elevation the same and just skew to find 119?

Correct - all you have to adjust is the skew . Make sure you have a lock on 110 and connect 119 directly ( no switch ) . Also try twistng the lnb slightly side to side .

I got it! I just tweaked it a little bit and I was able to pick them both up! What got me was the skew - I was turning counter clockwise before and that didnt work. I just have to tweak it abit more to get a better Q on 119 - its only around 65 right now. It was easier than I expected. Thanks Stan!!

Good to hear - don't expect the same Q out of 119 as 110 . Try 'twisting' the dish in all directions to see if it makes a difference .

Strange problem I ran into. If Im on a channel from 110 and switch to a channel on 119, it works. When I try to switch back to a channel on 110 it wont work. If I enter the antenna setup menu and exit, the channel will work. I can switch between 119 channels without problem. I can switch between 110 channels without problems. Im using a LS Ultra

maybe bad switch

Are you sharing the lnbs between 2 receivers ? First thing to do is change the switch - for 2 lonbs a sw21 or 22khzecoda would be my first choicfe.

Yes I am sharing between two receivers but only one receiver is connected right now. I will try to change the switch tomorrow, I have another Viewsat 4x1 Diseqc switch I can try.

But I can change from 110 to 119, but not the other way around. Does this sound like a switch problem to you guys?

If you're sharing with a viewsat you'll have problems - they don't like sharing lnbs . Setting lnb type on the vs to universal might help but the best way to alleviate the problem is by installing a grounding block .

How long is your cable ?

Funny thing is I'm not sharing with a VS. The two receivers are LS and Sonicview

The viewsat switch got me .lol It still applies - receivers do have problems sharing lnbs - especially on long cable runs - the so9lution is a grounding block.

I'm not sure what a grounding block is.

Get a better switch,, the vs ones are crap.. Look into a chieta or emp..

I'm not sure what a grounding block is.

Grounding block is used to bond the dish and the shield of the cable to the electrical earth ground.
Since you are using legacy type dual lnbs, dn sw-21 switches I found work the best for using 2 receivers same as your application.

The sat shop isnt really that close to me but I'll keep my eyes open for a Chieta or EMP switch. Its still functional at the moment, Im getting all channels but its just a little inconvenient when switching back to 110 channels.

I'm not sure what a grounding block is.

This should explain grounding : Info about Grounding Your Systems (http://www.satfix.net/showthread.php?1167-Info-about-Grounding-Your-Systems)

... the chieta switch you want to get is a wsd2041.
