Residents in Gainesville, Florida, called the cops to tame a rogue alligator. The gator wasn’t having it…

Rather than going away quietly, the gator in question decided that it would do to the Sheriff deputy’s car what it does best: bite.

And bite it did, clamping onto the vehicle’s front bumper, and allow itself to be dragged a few feet as the car was thrown into reverse.

A licensed trapper later captured the gator, winning one for the humans, but the amphibious beast made its point: he’s no fan of flatfoots.

Deputies put the car into reverse and tried to slowly back up. A trapper finally managed to corral the gator.

The unhappy reptile caused about $2,000 in damage to the squad car.

A Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission spokeswoman said the alligator was put down under the state's nuisance gator policy. Under that policy, the trapper is allowed to keep meat and hide from the gator.
