Well NASCAR race fans the All-Star Weekend is fast approaching, and I told you at the start of the season that things would be different this year, so we are going to have our own Showdown and All-Star races. I have started this thread earlier than usuall so you all can read it and get it figured out. Please be aware that some of the drivers are not in the lineups yet, so hold off on your picks until that week.

This race will be a little different from our standard weekly race pool.
Rules are a little different, so pay close attention....
Showdown Race....
This race will invlove those that have NOT won yet this year in the NASCAR Pool here, were NOT in the top 5 in the 2010 NASCAR Pool, and are not in the top 5 of the 2011 NASCAR Pool..... for the rest this will be your qualifing opportunity to get into the All-Star Race.
For those that have already won a race this season in the NASCAR Pool here, or where in the top 5 of the 2010 NASCAR Pool, or are in the top 5 of the 2011 NASCAR Pool, you can skip this step and proceed down to the All-Star Race selection.
There will be five transfer spots.....
Pick the correct winning driver from the list below, pick closest to the lap number of the first caution lap, pick closest to the lap number of the last caution lap, (caution lap picks are for tie breakers) and your the winner for the Showdown Race! The person that picked the closest to all of the above will be transferred into the All-Star Race . We will take the second thru fifth place finishers as well, but those four positions will not be recognized with a weekly title change.
This race is for fun, so no points will be awarded for the season, but the winner will have the weekly title change, and be listed in the weekly winners thread. We will also pass out satfix bux in the following progression....
1st - 50 bux
2nd - 40 bux
3rd - 30 bux
4th - 20 bux
5th - 10 bux
You will need to pick your Showdown driver selection, as well as, your All-Star Selection. In the event that you should win and transfer your selection for the All-Star race will already be posted here and be ready due to the close timing of the All-Star Race.

ALL-STAR CHALLENGE FORMAT
The 2011 format is as follows:

· Segment 2: 20 laps with the caution flag displayed at the end of Segment 2 for an optional pit stop.
· Segment 3: 20 laps with a 10-minute break at the end of Segment 3. Teams may make normal adjustments to their cars during this break. The finishing order after the third segment determines the field’s lineup for the pace lap prior to the start of the fourth segment.
· Segment 4: Once the field takes a lap behind the pace car, all cars must enter pit road for a four-tire stop. The order in which the cars exit pit road is how they will line up for the 10-lap shootout with only green-flag laps counting.
