It appears that the much talked about "Trilogy Fight" between Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez is down for the count as the latest news is that Manny is set to face Timothy Bradley instead. According to WBA junior Amir Khan, Bradley has signed on to fight Manny in November and their highly anticipated junior welterweight clash is off. On Monday morning, Amir Khan made the following comments via his official Facebook page:

"Bradley is signing with Top Rank and will fight Pacquiao in November."

As always, official confirmation will need to come from Top Rank, Bob Arum, or another representative from Team Pacquiao or Team Bradley. However, since Khan has been in negotiations with Bradley's camp for at least the last few weeks, he would definitely have some inkling of what Bradley's camp might be up to.

Manny Pacquiao doubles up Mosley in punches, Outperforms Floyd Mayweather Jr

On Saturday night, Top Rank promoter Bob Arum stated that Marquez, Bradley, or Zab Judah would be next for Manny Pacquiao on November 5 or November 12. However, for the last few weeks we have heard about offers from Arum to Marquez for a fight. Unfortunately, for the fans who wanted to see this fight, Marquez is still involved in contractual negotiations with Golden Boy Promotions. Over the weekend, Arum declared that Pacquiao would not fight any fighter form GBP and was trying to lure Marquez away.

Bradley, whose contract is expiring with his current promoter, was waiting to see what happened with Marquez before making a decision on fighting Amir Khan. According to BoxingScene.com, Arum stated on Sunday that Bradley was playing the waiting game because he knows a fight with Pacquiao would be more lucrative. It's understood how Arum wants complete control of Pacquiao's fights. Just take a look at the last four fights Manny had (Mosley, Margarito, Clottey, Cotto). Arum was in total control and received maximum profits.

While this may be "smart business, Arum still deserves criticism because three of the last four fights should not have taken place for the purity of the sport and the entertainment of the fans. Arum has the majority of blame when it comes to the fight between Mosley and Pacquiao on Saturday night. This was the match-up that Arum shoved in Pacquiao's face last December and really tried to get the boxing fans to buy into.

Manny Pacquiao a victim of Bob Arum's greed, Mosley fight was embarrassing

As for Bradley vs. Pacquiao, this should be a competitive fight as Bradley is an undefeated champion on the junior welterweight division hold two titles. He's athletic, strong, and will provide Pacquiao with some challenges. However, until someone defeats Manny again, never bet against Boxing's pound-for-pound champion.

This is the fight that should of happened instead of mosley.Bradley has not lost and knows he has the chance on becoming the best and will engage.Manny will handle him but it will be good to see a fresh opponent instead of a rerun with marquez.Although I thought he was retiring? With those 8 digit paydays I dont blame for not.Thats enough motivation for fighting.

i look forward to seeing manny fight bradley also.saturdays fight was awful. bad matchup from the get-go.after the knockdown shane was fighting off his back foot which makes him very hard to hit. manny played it safe and kept winning round after round.at least bradley will engage although it will be headfirst

Like you, I won't budge until the "fat lady sings"! Nonetheless, as brilliant as the Harvard graduate Arum is as a promoter and businessman, his ongoing feud with Golden Boy Promotions is interfering with the manner in which the sports (of boxing) should be: "boxers earning the right to get in the ring through sheer achievement".

Awarding Bradley a "sweepstake" win (multi-million dollar payday) and luring him to join Top Rank in the process is almost immoral and unethical. It shows how unscrupulous Arum has become.

Regardless of what he can bring into the ring besides his head and headbutts, Bradley does not deserve this match-up. He refused a $1.3 million offer to fight Amir Khan, anticipating this carrot from Arum. What a shameless greedy twit he is. Already, there are posts appearing everywhere saying that he will be destroyed by the Pacman.

Bradley Denies Pacquiao Fight Rumors For November

By Mark Vester

WBO/WBC junior welterweight champion Timothy Bradley has denied a circulating rumor that he is scheduled to face WBO 147-pound champion Manny Pacquiao in November. The rumor originated on Amir Khan's official Facebook page, where it was posted that Bradley was going to sign with Top Rank and fight Pacquiao in November. Bradley has so far refused to accept an offer of $1.3 million to face Khan on July 23, and is likely waiting for his promotional contract with Gary Shaw to expire. The contract expires at the end of June.

“I haven't heard anything like that, but if it's true, hey, hey, hey,” Bradley said laughing to The Desert Sun. "It's not true, but I wish it was true. I told my promoters what I wanted, and they have to deliver. It has nothing to do with Khan.”

Bradley is guaranteed to make $1.2 million for his next HBO appearance, against any approvable opponent, so an offer of $1.3 for Khan is not enticing enough.
