Which do you like better and why ?
I have a grid now, but someone wants a system, and wanted to get input on what you like better and why...Thanks!

I need to try one out
stock antenna on router and I get about 15% to 23% depending on weather
doesn't give full potential for speed
if I use my usb yagi wifi get great speeds

wok cover and high power usb wifi (500mw or better)
Up in the attic at the peak of the roof I used to get a signal over 2 miles away.
Got it in my bedroom window now, easier to tweak.

I used a 10 foot BUD and a 2 watt USB WIFI adapter (photos later) and get 10 miles to a friends house, he now has internet off my service.
A yagi can perform just as good as a grid, the only difference would be for the yagi gain to match the grid gain, it would need more directing elements, this may make it too long for most installs.
A 6 foot 2.5 GHz grid has 30 dBi gain, to match that a yagi would have to be 20 feet long.

If you get a WIFI adapter with a removable antenna you can do wonderful things with it, I used one of these hummers
http://www.data-alliance.net/Page.bok?template=long-range-clients&gclid=CI_Z6pShiakCFUgaQgodqk8SoA and a 16 dBi yagi and it works great.

I once saw a pic of a usb wifi device mounted inside a ku band lnb for discreet outdoor antenna fun.
The lnb guts were removed and the usb device was stuck in the throat.
The biggest hassle would be finding an lnb to fit. Most have throats too narrow.

I know it is not one of your choices but I've had good luck with a panel antenna.
