It is going to be a Canucks sweep because the Bruins are just not fast enough nor can they pass the puck well enough. Thomas is a good goalie but Luongo is better ;)
After wtaching the last 2 Tampa/Boston games it became clear that the Cancucks will be the 2011 Stanley Cup Champions ;)
GO CANUCKS GO~~~

Canucks or Bruins: Which is 'Canada's team?'
May 28, 2011 1:15 PM |

In their only regular-season meeting, the Bruins beat the Canucks 3-1 in late February.
The Boston Bruins will open the Stanley Cup finals in Vancouver against the Western Conference champion Canucks on Wednesday (CBC, CBCSports.ca, 7:30 p.m. ET).
As we head towards the opening game, an intense debate has emerged online about whether Canadians should be rooting for the Canucks or the Bruins. Some argue that the Vancouver squad has become Canada's team in these finals, as they are the only Canadian team left. However, others say the Bruins feature Canadian-born players more prominently on its roster.
OK. Pick one and as the last series, I'll throw all the winning picks in a hat and the winner gets 100 Satfix Bux this time. Good Luck all.

canucks are going to choke this. look at how they played. they nearly choked with the hawks.....barely beating the 8th seed. and san jose got totally robbed on the missed iceing call and a riduculous bounce that i havn't see the likes of in 30yrs...lol.. there should have been a game 6.
boston is so hungry....they play tough and showed it in all their series. being down 2-0 to their arch enemies didn't stop them...they killed philly, and a talented team from tampa....boston showed they have what it takes.
i am canadian too and would like to see lord stanley come back to canada, but i feel its bostons year!

The Bruins/Tampa series was an outright joke. Neither team could pass nor shoot and they were slowwwwww! The only thing that saved the Bruins arses was Thomas.
The Canucks are going to rap the Bruins something incredible and if you think the bruins are hungry then you haven't seen anything yet.....The Canucks are starving and will play like never before and I can say that I honestly think it will be the Canucks in 4 straight.

although I hate doing it I will say Vancouver in 6. Wrong teams made the finals and if the refs would have done all games like they did the last one we would probably be seeing 2 different teams. So we might see a good series and we might see some more crap. All depends if the refs decide to let them play

Definitely a late hit and definitely a penalty but that is the first Game Misconduct and 5-minute major for interference I have ever seen. Be interesting to see what the NHL has to say about it.

Guess i was wrong on this one, a carnage for sure, the heart was blown out of the canucks, and louie fell asleep, the whole team fell asleep, however i feel the hit was a good one, sadly Horton got the worst of it, but to give a game misconduct and possible 2 day game ban, is very unfair. horton wasn't watching. i am sorry but it was a good check..... the refs lost control of the game... not too worry, canucks will come back...with avengance.............................

Shoulder to shoulder hit in the middle of the ice with, maybe a step and a half after he passed the puck. First of all, how could you be in the NHL that long without knowing that it maybe a good idea to keep your head up in that situation...........Please !!!! - What was he doing admiring his pass.
And now Rome has the rest of the season off because this mook doesn't know better then that.

boston kicked there rear ends, and hard! the first two games, boston could have won, just made a couple mistakes. but man....they slaughtered them back on home ice. loungo is starting to do his norm.....thomas is more solid. as i said earlier...... bruins in 7.
..and rome got what he deserved. the league has rules for this, the players should know them. he leveled a vunerble player who DID NOT have the puck.

Chuck you have been drinking too much coffee lol.... the 4 games was far too much, and i still say it was a reasonable check by rome. the NHL has now set a precedent. will they stand by it. NO they wont. the whole game was a farce. Boston did win. but the refs lost control of the game. we shall see a diffirent game tonight, and hopefully we see Hockey. and not a brawl......I still say Canucks will take the cup.....why wasn't Lucic given a misconduct for the finger incident ???????? and enticing the brawl...............................

Intent to injure? ...try again.
Rome is far far from a dirty player and everyone knows this.
Horton was admiring his pretty pass and a second later he was admiring the pretty rainbow coloured ponies dancing around his head. the first thing i was told when entering contact hockey is that entering the blueline is the most dangerous place and to always be aware of opposing players and horton obviously didnt do that so it is partially horton's fault that he didnt hear Rome coming.
An excerpt from the Murphy interview:
Q. Without speculating too much, had that hit occurred quicker, a split second after he released it, would that hit have been deemed legal under Rule 48?
MIKE MURPHY: This has nothing to do with Rule 48. This is just an interference penalty, an interference hit. If it was immediate after he released the puck, it would be a legal hit. We have them all the time.
And yet he gets a 4 game suspension??

rome had more than enough time not to hit him
by hitting him that means intent
interference if he hadn't gone for the head(intent to injure)
how many players need to be suspended for head shots before it sinks in?
by the way I'm rooting for canucks so I guess that makes my comment impartial?
surfinisfun
06-08-2011, 10:17 PM
However anyone may feel about that hit is there own and thats fine but i'll tell you a couple of things about those exact kind of hits. All plays right from pee wee are told to do that in that situation. Thats not saying its o.k but its instilled in all players very early and i know that for a fact. I guarantee this goes even more so in the pro's.
If you ask all the players and coaches in the NHL right now if they look to drop a guy to the ice in that situation they will say...Absolutely.
That does not mean he meant to injure him, it means he meant to do what he was coached to do....Thats all.

Damn rights he intended to hit him but in no way shape or form did he intend to injure. The 4 game suspension for interference was uncalled for and way to long. IF Horton had of got up from the ice then the suspension probably would not have even happened and all this suspension was ...was a mercy suspension on behalf of the Bruins fans.
It is always easy to say Rome had enough time to pull away BUT the speed these players go make that virtually impossible and would have caused an even greater collision because now they are both out of control and is how knees get wrecked.
Horton should never have had his head down like that and glad he wasn't hurt worse.
Glad your rooting for the Canucks ;) Tonites game will be a whole different game and the Canucks will hand the Bruins their arses on a silver platter and then bring it home to Vancouver to win the Cup :)

that may be sleddy...but its the canucks that are now, under pressure. i am sure luongo will start, but he has to pull off the amazing, after allowing 12 goals in two games. and the bruins are back in the series big time....playing not only for the cup but a purpose....a fallen commerade....horton!
...and even if the bruins come up short (game 5)...., there will be a game 6 in boston.
a different canucks team game 5...perhaps....and so they should be....boston is a playoff built team...just like philly was last year....vancouver hasn't seen the likes of a bruin team or felt it this playoffs!

both teams are under pressure. maybe if the refs controlled the game better, we could see good. fair hockey, sadly this has not been the case. many penalties should have been called on both sides, more so blatant penalties on Boston, and i am sure you all saw them..horton went down on a good hit, he also wanted to get up and skate back to the bench, but he was not allowed to,,,good move on Boston, this did change the momentum. and the style of the game.......................now it is the best of three games. if the game is played fairly and the refs control the game fairly. Vancouver will win. however if it is the opposite. Boston will prevail....this is my honest opinion..............................

last night game was an expected win for Boston. the officiating again was to be desired...however. were down to the final game, and again i say Vancouver will prevail. final score 2-1 Vancouver. good luck to both teams, and lets have a clean game, and a good game.......................Go Canucks

Now that sounds like a real beating.. But I agree, the Bruins will take this one and probably the cup..:thumbsup:
JCO you been at my meds again..................you dissapoint me. however anyone who needs heart pills.........Mabs...sit on the couch...more room lol Go Canucks. and JCO go to bed lol
but all the 3 games in Vancouver were close, could have been gone either way
thats right sli, there must have been half a dozen fans on the puck that
could have gone in for vancouver and there must have been, at least 3
goal posts.... sometimes you need to be lucky to be good ,, the winner,,
who ever it is will deserve it,,, may the loser win next year!!
good luck to both these teams and thanks for this GREAT hockey final!!

roberto luongo is blowing it for the canucks.. He is a very unstable goalie and should not play in game 7.. He is not giving his team a chance to win, letting in weak goals and drowning team morale... A good goalie should be able to steal a game or so in away games, luongo is not doing this and is absolutly terrible..

if the coach plays him in game 7 he should be fired, luongo should be as well...:okay:

who ever the goalie is they need a better help from deffence, and I think that luongo can do the trick ,the question is are v gunners going to show up,which I think they will, and as long as they move b goalie around and dont let him be square to the packs and if vancouver moves the pack around and quicker it will go the nucks way I hope !!!! oh well tomorrow we will find out ,but is going to be one hell of a game ,go nucks go !!!!!.

well, here we are! game 7 of the stanley cup final.
boston @ vancouver
i have watched each of these teams throughout there playoff run and have witnessed some great hockey.
going into tonights match up, the edge would be to the home team, as the home team has won every game. however the home victory scores have been very lop-sided. luongo is known for letting in weak goals and continueing this trend in a game, and tonight is his biggest challenge he has ever faced.
at the other end is a steady tim thomas, which in all the games he has played in vancouver hs given his team a chance to win and all games within a goal. win or lose tonight, i think thomas is mvp, he has been brilliant.
boston have been very close to winning an away game, unlike the canucks. home ice has its advantages, but tonight i figure the best team will win.
i go with the bruins tonight as i have said from the start in 7 games.
Boston 4-3 IN OT

Do you know what channel Coronation Street is on.
what's the matter with Luango,, he is not effective under pressure ,, he chokes!!
it's a long shot for vancouver now,, they need a goal right of the drop of the puck
one later in the game and one after they remove Luango with a minute left in the game
GO Nucks Go!!!
Get that smile off your face JCO.....lol

that certainly would be a favourable senario for van.
i wonder that if they would have started the back-up goalie for van, for the start of the 3rd. i know its a hard coaching decision to sit ur #1, the captain, the one that got the team to where they are in a game 7 stanley cup final......but man... van needs a major momentum change....the crowd is even out of it.

When you sign Luango for 10?12? years you have to play him no? wonder what they think of that contract now? But plain and simple Thomas and the Boston are just the better team. Too bad that Van won't be getting to touch the cup this year!

Congratulations to the Boston Bruins, they were without a doubt the better team in game 7.
Congrats to the Canucks as well for one hell of a great run. To add to the feeling of the loss though hundreds of idiots looted stores, set cars on fire and all around behaved like animals.
Those aren't fans there just punks.
