What size is your dish? HH motors don't move dishes bigger then 1.2m(4 ft). If it's for a a bic c band dish, you'll need an actuator.

my c-band dish is 8 feet but ive heard that there are those types of motors that will move this dish, i did the conversion from feet to meters in m its 2.4384 m

I would suggest a 24" actuator. Where are you located?

Try worldwidesatellites located in Toronto. Great prices, service and fast shipping.

I have had a h-h mount since 1991 works fine for me. Got it from local dealer, no longer open . My set up; 10ft mesh, mounted on 20ft pole , chaparral corotor feedhorn c/ku, with dual output DBS LNBF adapter prime focus LNBF, 4dtv (use for moving dish), pan.9200hd, 4x1 diseqc switch, spliter for c/ku . Two tvs. Use a 13in as a montor for fine tuning 4dtv,use RCA cable from 9200 to large tv. For info my first dish was in 1985 BS (B/4 scrambling).

Are you saying that your using a h/h motor to move a 10' bud? Sure would like to see some pics.

Still can't see any pics and highly doubt that a h/h motor can move the weight of a bud.

Well I'll be darned. I have never heard of an h/h motor moving a bud. I've always been informed that a motor of that size could only move a 1.2m(4') dish max. Thanks for the pics drbob and Art.

Glad you got the pic, Cos. Bought that H to H mount between 15 and 20 years ago from Skyvision for $250. Who knows what it would cost now even if they still sell them. What ever happened to our old friend Beano Face?

I haven't seen Beano in about 5 months, probably hanging out at Ricks.

Looks like an AJAK patriot motor, sorry to say they are no longer around, good stuff but they died out when "C" band took the hit when "Ku" band stuff hit the market.

Good for an 8 foot mesh or a 6 foot solid.

I have a 10 ft mesh dish and a H/H motor. I purchased mine about 20 years ago in a local dealer. Still working fine. I have been able to purchase some spare parts through ebay.
Currently have it connected to an ilink and move it using an old uniden dish mover.
Works perfect on both C and Ku band
Satellite hobbyist that have been with this hobby for a long time could relate to this. People on this hobby for 10 years or less would not have been exposed to this technology.
My reccommendation is to look around your neighborhood or around your town and you might find someone with a h/h cband dish willing to give it away or sell it for a small fee.
Lots of good free to air stuff on both bands. Enough to keep you busy surfing

If you are looking for a mover that will pan the dish from horizon to horizon (providing you have no obstructions from trees or buildings) you can get a 52" dish mover at skyvision.com, I have a 36" mover on my 10ft and it won't quite make it to both horizons so you'll need a 48-52" mover.

Skyvision sells a 52" for $300 but I looked and they are presently out of stock on that particular mover.

Hey, I have a 4 solid -meter dish which moves from NSS-806 to AMC 7.....

The idea is that actually you use the motor of an actuator and place it on a mechanism rolling a chain....you need some engineering to design it...the pin of the motor moves a socket that moves the holes in a chain...the chain is sirrounding almost the entire diameter of a dish

I know where there is a 8'6" birdview with a H2H motor. It's in Northern Missouri. I would love to drive up & get it, but I can't too many other obligations

Good concept Channelsat, but rotating the dish like a steering wheel will not get it to point to the satellites, you have to pan it back and forth like turning your head side to side and your nose following a big arc across the sky.

Also at the end of travel there is some very serious force on the actuator, the BUD dish is quite heavy, it would have to be a good sized motorcycle chain.

I can get some actuators that will handle 1500 LBS, they can pan any sized dish. (up to 1500 LBS)
