Hey All, newbie to FTA Sats, know only enough to get by :), I am sure this has been asked before in the forums.
My question is, is it possible to get FTA Feeds from the UK? I am in Southern Ontario, and if so, what type of equipment is used to do so?
Thanks All

I believe the farthest east sat that you can receive is Atlantic Bird 1 at 12.5W. However most sats do not have UK channels or feeds. Perhaps Costactc will chime in as he is always scanning the skies and may have found something.

If you go to lyngsat site and click on FreeTV, then pick Europe, then pick UK from the list it gives you, you will get a list of FreeTV that can be had in the UK--I would look on that list for channels of interest on satellites that you can get based on your location and the footprint of the sat. My guess is that north america is out of most of the footprints of the EU sats and you only will be able to get those with NA footprints--which means little UK signals.

I'm in Eastern Ontario and the furthest Atlantic sat I get to is, as Will mentioned, Atlantic Bird at 12.5w- unfortunately no UK channels. I'll definitely keep my eyes peeled and report back if something pops up.

Should I mention that KTV2 on 97 degree Ku band has english programing from lots of sources and BBC is one of them, Canadian and NZ too--what you get varies and may be old but lots of it is OK. You get sports on KTV3 too--might be of UK interest.
