There is an "unwritten law" in diplomatic circles, just like there is with men in uniforms. You know what happens when someone kills a cop? There are no "plea bargains" or "leniency". The full force of the law is administered. That is just the way it is - those serving the public are accorded the greatest protection.

Pacquiao is a boxer but he is also a legislative officer in his country. Presiding US District Judge Larry Hicks who earlier denied "motion to dismiss" filed by Boy Floyd's attorneys has now forced Mayweather to appear and provide his deposition. This does not sound good at all for Mayweather and the writer's speculation for a $100 million punitive cost looms large. Hence, it is very possible that Mayweather's attorney will not risk a legal battle in court. Hence, a settlement out-of-court regardless of agreement would spell defeat for Mayweather.

I am almost sure that at the conclusion of this defamation suit, Pacquiao will make it very difficult for Mayweather to earn "the highest purse in his career" by simply calling it quits.

That will be the biggest blow to Mayweather's ego.

Heheheheeeee, Aqua.. That oughta make him grow some "cojones" and finally get in the ring and shut him up for good... If they rule against him he will surely go the way of Mike Tyson and into bankruptcy as he has so many other criminal, judicial and financial issues going on...

Old news, can force him into a slaughter house or make him do what they want, so you try to force him into it like in the "old wild west" by using the Sheriff. He'll get up there and beat the congressman and show everyone how clean a sportsman should be, not in the street but up in the ring. After the done deal, he may be elected congressman himself but in the united states congress.

That is why I love the United States of America. You can not just go out there making this false accusation to someone without a hard proof or evidence or base on speculations only. Or else you will end up like Mr. Floyd Jr.

Sf Gate reports: The boxing world would like to see Floyd Mayweather Jr. go up against rival boxing champ Manny Pacquiao in the ring. But it seems even a federal judge couldn't get them together...
