im thinking about buying a Motorola dsr-410 package deal from skyvision
it comes complete with 6 foot dish, with shipping its under $500 usd
i have a somewhat clear view of the south from 61.5w to 125w is good 125w to 139w not so good but if i want to run 150 foot of cable then it will miss the trees if you can run that much cable
im just wondering what a 6' dish will pick up on the c-band side
i thought you needed at least an 8' dish for the c-band where im located
im located in west virginia, on the ohio border
and where can i sub on amc 18 besides skyvision
im just wondering if its worth the investment
i do like sports like nfl and nhl and i do have a sonicview 8k i could hook up to it too

a 6 foot dish should work great for you but the larger the dish the better for c band and ku band.
i am in north carolina and i was useing a 39 inch hot dish for c band but then i found a free 7.5 bud for free and i use it for c band and ku band now.
i now have an extra 7.5 bud that i got for free, you mite want to look around where you live you mite find one for free or pm me west virginia is not
that far from me.

One thing to check is make sure the dish comes with a polar mount...If not it's a stationary mount & can only be used for one location (W5) The DSR 410 is not a very good FTA receiver & I don't believe they have a positioner built in them. They are made for one thing & that is a cheap 4DTV capable.

If you haven't yet checked look on craigslist for a BUD (big ugly dish) you just might find a 10' which is much better for C Band.

My farthest run is 250' to a 10' BUD. I went a little over kill I used RG11 12 gage for the Actuator & 14 gage for the reed sensor.

I have another at 220' & did the same thing.

Solid copper RG6 will work just great for runs under 350'. Honestly there currently is not a lot of channels past 125. I just scanned in 12 on 125 C. But the great thing about FTA is that can change at any time.

from what i been reading is that there is only 2 places that offer 4dtv programming, skyvision and programming center and they offer no porn and the only premium channels are stars and encore. i just called skyvision and the 6' dish doesnt have a polar mount. so i dont think ill buy that setup. thanks every1 for your replies

Last year I paid $35 for a 10' BUD & a DSR920. A DSR 920 or 922 can move the dish & they can be used for programming. Skyvision is a great source, but they are in it to make money. Your right, no porn, but buy the wife some roses & chocolates...who needs to watch someone else...LOL $54.00 a month for the superpack is a great deal. I'd like to see Di$h match that price.

Anyway my point is dont give up, a BUD is well worth it.
