A recent MMA event held in Calgary's Telus Convention Center last week has ended in controversy after a fighter appeared to be unconscious for a full 10 seconds before the ref stepped in to stop the fight.
Kim Couture, Ex wife of MMA legend Randy "The Natural" Couture was up against Shelia Bird when Bird caught Couture in a leg scissor choke.
Watching the video it seems that couture passes out with the ref right in the action but it still takes a while before he calls it off.
In a time when MMA is doing all it can to be pushed as a legitimate professional sport things like this do it no favours
