All IKS Servers Will Be Unreachable In The US By 1/1/2012
This is no idle boast and needs to be taken seriously. Yes this is in relation to the current bill on the floor called "PROTECT IP" as this bill DN will use to block ISP's from accessing servers located off shore that allow circumvention of satalite programming.

Unless action is taken on a national level many of you can kiss your IKS services goodbye as Charlie undoubtedly will take advantage of this bill if it passes to block your connection.

For more information on this bill please vist any of the sites listed below

I think the timeline is a bit optimistic on their part.

Even if the bill came to pass, the sites would still be accessible by using the actual ip address. There seems to be quite a bit of opposition to the bill by some large companies and orgs, among them Google, Ebay, EFF, and NetCoalition.

They can block web addresses, ip addresses and ip ranges in their routers. Maybe add a place in our stb network setting so we could enter a proxy server or better yet come out with a standalone bin. This law could also affect our ability to go some sites also if they deem they are contributing to some form of copyright infringement.

You're putting things in the bill that aren't there. The bill only involves domain name servers blacklisting the site names and search engines removing hyperlinks. The ip addresses would still function.

You are correct in part. I did some investgation to see why (because of my backgrond as a retired CNE) someone whould make a stupid mistake. What I found out was very shocking what their true intent was. This bill was aimed primailary to shutdown domains operating outside of the USA. They learned how to bankrupt sites by following what the USA did to Jullian Asange's site in the "intrest of national security" by strong arming credit card, pay pal, and other ways sites collect money. Also the bill would also ban any advertisers or companies who operate in the USA to advertise on their site (Bascically shutting off their cash flow). The bill was designed for these groups to go to the DOJ and get a same day order to put this in effect on their word only in the same day without the site knowing about it. (No presumption of innocence). They also wanted to censure the world dns root servers located in the USA (Which we have a great many of). Which would also affect some others not living in our country to live by our law.

Basically they wanted to police and censure the internet with out any consideration to the constitutional and bill rights and possibly do harm sites that is doing no wrong in the process.

The good news is this got tabled for now. Some of the sponsors withdrew and several law professors gave opinions as this being unconstitutional and complaints from citizens and businesses to their respective reps in Washington. So for now our system of goverment has prevailed.
