hi guys . ok so here is where i am at the moment.

my first problem was that i couldn't get 110 satellite on my 30 inch fortec dish so i got some help from couple of people here and i found at that where i am at in alberta i atleast need 36 inch dish to get 110/118/119 on same dish ok? so for time being i am dropping my plan to do 110 satellite because i don't wanan buy a new 36 inch dish and have a new setup its just too much for me right now.

so now the thing is this that currently up on the roof i have two dishes. 1 has 119/118 setup on that 30 inch fortec dish, other one is the small dish of bev with 91/82 setup so i heard nfps is getting bev channels soon so thats why i also drop 110 because bev will have lot of more english channels. so anyways the thing is that currently i have 2 receivers

1. KBOX
2. limesat.

Now one tv the limesat is running perfectly fine. with all the channels coming.

but the kbox it is having issues i am missing some channels and also on 119 i get some freezing and when i go in the menu and dish setup and see the signal when ever it is freezing the signal and quality get drop drastically . so some body told me here on forum that i have to look into my switches and something is wrong there. ok fine i agree it must be that because there is no other problem i see.

Now my switches are on the roof ok? so i wanna do a setup where i can ground my switches under my deck so i don't have always problem going on the roof in future to fix , thats my first thing.

secondly, this losing some channels and freezing problem that i wanna fix so i think i have to buy new switche so which one should i buy?

also if i buy new one i wanna keep in mind that i am going to be adding a 3rd receiver in home ok? so according to that which switch i buy . also by keep in mind that i could add 110 satellite in future

so overall sorry for long story , i cut shot, what to do basically to ground my switches so i don't lose signal or have freezing problem or i don't lose channels . secondly as i said will be having 3 receivers so considering that which switch. i hope this thread make sense sorry for my long typing. if some one can help me is very thank ful. i appreciate..

satfix rocks.

Can you be more specific about what type of lnb do you have ? Dual output for 118/119 ? what about for 82 &91 ?

The least expensive way to connect everything would be to buy 2 Zinwell 4x4 switches, 1 for the 82and 91 dish and another for the 119/118 and 110 dish combine the outputs at each receiver using a 4x1 Diseqc switch

is there an example picture for this and how can i make them safe? i am reading several thread but i don't find it thanks

Dual Frequency Circular Twin LNBF

LNB Frequency: 10750MHz – Low Frequency Circular Polarity LNBF
TP Frequency: 11700MHz-12700MHz
This LNBF is specialized with one use – to receive Anik F3(118.8W) & Echo*7(119.0W)
as it differentiates between the to satellites as they are both circular polarity, although Anik
F3 use a Lower Frequency like that of a Linear Sat. but is capable of receiving Echo*7 as
well, which is at the Standard Frequency. This Twin or Dual LNB delivers signal from
both sats to 2 STBs without a switch – most use 22K switching built in, unless it is DN.

I have attached another file with a different extention that you should be able to open. What you need to to is to get your switches off the roof and into some type of weather proof enclosure. You also have to electrically ground your switches and your coax. To ground your coax you willl need to aquire some coax grounding blocks which are available at stores that sell coax cable. This might eliminate what you are referring to as freezing to providing it is conflicting receivers and not related to the 3rd party software you are using. I will send you a PM listing a couple reliable dealers in Alberta who sell the Zinwell 4x4 switches.

BTW If by chance you are using the twist on type of coax connectors GET RID OF THEM. They are nothing but trouble.

thanks for your reply friend it really helped now i have couple of questions. like u said i use 4x4 switch of zinwell . i do have one 4x4 zinwell switch why i can't just use one of them why two because its 4x4 and i have 110/119 and 91 and 82 total 4 satellite and i should be able to get 3 receivers out of it with leaving one extra slot for 4th receiver?

secondly the grounding thing how to do ?

A 4x4 switch will give you outputs from 2 dual LNBs to 4 STBs. Look closely at the picture I provided. You need 2 coaxes from each LNB to the 4x4 switch. That is why you need 2 switches for 4 LNBs. As far as how to ground your system take a look at the Stickies in this section http://www.satfix.net/showthread.php?1167

hi thanks ur reply again. so the 4x4 switch can it be of a different brand? also is it necessary to take out two coax out of each lnb? why can't we just take out one coax from each lnb and just attach to 4x4 switch so we have 4 lnb in one switch why two coax from each lnb?

and also the thread iread before for grounding but it is looking so complex is there a simple way to secure my switches? how other people are doing it ? thanks

Zinwell is the highly recommended brand of 4x4 switches. You have to connect 2 coaxes from each LNB to the switch otherwise you will be missing half your channels nso for 4 LNBs you need 2 4x4 switches.
Grounding is not complex you simply run a single 10 ga copper wire from either the ground on your elecrtical service or the copper water line where it enters your house to your switches. Most switches have a point where you connect the ground wire. You can get the grounding wire and any connectors needed for splices at any decent home supply store.

Yes zinwell is a very respected manufacturer of different types of switches used in the dbs industry. Their 4x4 switch is only usable on legacy type lnbs, and yes 2 cables from each lnb for 13vdc for vertical polarization and 18vdc for horizontal polarization are necessary.

what is tuner?

what is tuner?

Some receivers have 2 tuners rather then just 1 tuner. The SV360Elite is an example of a dual tuner receiver.

so ok i get 2 zinwell 4x4 and 3 sw21 switches and one grounding block ( to ground my setup) can some one confirm if this is correct things

sw21 switch from ebay

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/2X-SW21-MULTI-SWITCH-DISH-NETWORK-BELL-SW-21-LNB-VU-/320605458150?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_2&hash=item4aa5930ee6

also for grounding block from ebay. (hxxp://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=360197866768&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649)

so i will have 3 receiver setup with that grounding block.

now to drop all those switches i just attach it the wall of my house or do i have to put in box? please give me recommendation for that. thanks.

You can use 4x1 DiSEqC switches or SW21 switches to switch among the 4x4s or 3x4s. 4x1 DiSEqC switches if you use only 3x4s.
http://www.satfix.net/attachment.php?attachmentid=11390&d=1315716723
Now if you are just setting up 2 receivers, you can bypass the 4x4s/3x4s and output the LNBs straight to 2 4x1 DiSEqC switches.

Receiver settings: That is for another thread in the appropriate receiver forum.:okay:
