I have a new unused 33" dish. I am thinking to install it for 129W for HD. What LNB is required for this Sat? I am in NY and I read a bigger dish is needed for 129.
I also have a full DN setup since I also sub to them. Dishpro Plus with 61.5, 110, 119/118. All 4 diseqc ports are occupied with this setup. I wonder how to setup 129 now on a separate 33" dish for 2 receivers:rolleyes:

I would check to make sure 129 isn't below the horizon.
For ny that is really pushing it.

seeing as I get 129 near Toronto with an 18 inch dish, I think it would be fair to say that you could do the same in New York

as for adding it to your setup, get a 22khz switch for each receiver

You will need a circular type lnb same as the 61.5w or the 110w.

I have a new unused 33" dish. I am thinking to install it for 129W for HD. What LNB is required for this Sat? I am in NY and I read a bigger dish is needed for 129.

I would say : no problem , you will got 129w with this dish , as of Lnb you need any legacy or standard nor Dp Lnb with LO 11250 , plus switch Ecoda 22kHz

If your in NY and sub to Dish, they will set you up on the "Eastern Arc" for HD service, 61.5 72 and 77.

I almost live under 129 and I use at least a single 30" for that bird, it is temperamental, I setup the dish with a single band stacking LNB, then on the 110/119 dish I use the DP+ LNB with a separate LNB input on it.

Now since you have a subbed DN receiver you are limited to what you can attach to it as far as switches, it will only work with Dish approved switches.

I would (as you mentioned) setup a second system for your Dish receiver(s) and leave it alone, you cant add 129 to it as they will ask why, and a standard (un-modified) Dish receiver will only take 4 satellites

Then you can feed signals from the dish system to your FTA system.

You just take a 22 KHz switch and use that to feed the signals from the Dish switch (DPP44) and the second dish to your FTA receiver, it would be diseqc port 1 = 119, port 2= 110, port 3 = 61.5 and port 4 = 118 all of them would be set to 22 KHz off, then diseqc off and 22 KHz on for the 129 LNB feed.(this is for the FTA receiver only)

eastern arc would be more feasible.

Listen to terryl

The *new* 129 is way better than the old one that would wobble all over the place. The stock install out here WAS a standard 500 for 119/110 then a bigger "side dish" for 129 alone. I haven't seen a new dish install out here for some time so I'm not sure if they are still doing it that way. *cough* netflix *cough* Most people out here are using different service model these days.

Thanks for all the replies. Terryl: Though I sub to DN but I only watch nfps. I do not watch anything from DN. I am using SV8000HD. I don't need an eastern arc since most of the nfps HD channels are on 129. So with my current setup from DN 61.5, 110, 119/118, can I replace the 61.5 (18 inch dish) with the bigger 33" dish and use the same lnb from 61.5 to setup 129? Or, just try to point the 61.5 to 129 and try to get some HD channels from it?

72.7 on the eastern arc is pretty much not being supported any more so 129 is the answer
