TORONTO, Aug. 10, 2011 /CNW/ - Bell Media announced today that its newly branded conventional network CTV Two will launch on Monday, Aug. 29 at 6 a.m. local time. Immediately accessible to nearly 90% of English viewers from coast-to-coast, the newly branded stations are CTV Two Vancouver/Victoria, CTV Two Alberta, CTV Two Toronto/Barrie, CTV Two London, CTV Two Windsor, CTV Two Ottawa, and CTV Two Atlantic. The CTV Two schedule features some of Canada's most-watched series as well as local CTV News programming in most markets. And, for the first time, CTV Two will transmit in High Definition beginning Aug. 31.

A navigational brand directing viewers to a second platform for CTV programming, the CTV Two Fall Schedule has been loaded with Top 20 hits and some of this Fall's most-anticipated new programs, including THE X FACTOR, premiering Sept. 22. The schedule immediately positions CTV Two as one of Canada's most competitive conventional networks. Additional CTV programming found on CTV Two includes TWO AND A HALF MEN, CRIMINAL MINDS, CSI: MIAMI, LAW & ORDER: SVU, THE VAMPIRE DIARIES, NIKITA, AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL, MIKE & MOLLY, ANDERSON, and THE ELLEN DEGENERES SHOW.

yes but it is accessible to 90 percent of the country i believe this is also part of the digital transition that is taking place in Canada by 2012 so these channels will be HD

Is that similiar to the USAs ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX?

BTW, what are your nationals and do you and the USA have the same time zone?....tks

Pollypurabred-yes CTV, is the same as the US'S nation wide broadcasters,such as you stated,tho smaller,others include,CBC,Global(*dont know if they were part of takeover).

Why would Canada have a different time zone?Think of your geography a little.I know some peaple think that Newfounland will be closer to Toronto if Quebec separates from Canada![QUOTE=

Well in the USA we do have a couple of states that voted not to use Daylight savings time. Weird but true.

CTV2 should be TSN (CTV station) OTA... That's what I would add to OTA the TSN channel.

yes, this is only if you have the right hardware - the news spread around about skyblu HDTV to launch in 2012 is what the future really is in canada for HD content...we'll see if i can get my locals all in HD for free? - CTV will be in that package anyways win win - not that their line-up impresses me much

CBC is NOT the same or has any relation to Global or CTV whatsoever -

CTV is privately owned like NBC, ABC, etc in U.S...........

CBC is Canadian government owned which is why you would never see

any American first run shows on its network unless possibly in syndication..........
