Hubby and I have come across some new info on a new high speed internet connection called "Turbo Hub Flex Plan" for BEV. It's just a signal receiver which receives the same signal as a BEV cellphone. It is not affected by adverse weather conditions. It offers a maximum of up to 21 mbps, with an average download speed of 3.5 to 8mbps. We would greatly appreciate all members points of view concerning this matter. We live in a very rural area and have upgraded or internet package 3 times and after a few months it seems to become no better than dial-up. So again any input whether pro or con will be of importance to us.
Thanks.

is this just a rocket stick type of thing that plugs into your USB port on your computer? If so don't expect the speed they advertise unless you are next door to a cell tower.

I have tested that HUB for 1 month and returned it!First of all,it is a internet connection that works with Cell phone (Bell mobility). It works real good but if you live in a remote area, make sure you get the signal 24 hours a day.My Wi-Fi provider bankrupt last december and yes we were out of internet for a month before I got hold of the Turbo hub from Bell. The map, for signal quality, was showing that we had good service in our area.So we went for it (very pricy at first)and I hooked everything up and it worked fine for 15 days. After we were having service every 3 days off and on.I contacted the compamny and they pitched me that we live in a marginal service area! What is this,it's like my car will work every 3 or 4 days!Whenever it feels like it!So I wanted my money back. And yes I had to fight with 10 representents until I talk to a supervisor named "ACHMED"and admited that it was ridiculous.Remember their return policy is 14 days including transport.I also refered tha flat upstanding box to my 3 neighbors with the same problem. Also you have to watch the time of usage, remember you are on Bell Mobility. Also you are going to deal with Bell witch, right away,it's not a good thing.I finaly got credits from them.Try it first with all the options of return. They might make it work for 15 days and the fight with you.

The speed and quality of service you get with these things depends on how far you are from a tower, and how many users are on that tower... During peak times, you should expect service to slow down due to the fact that more people are using their phones, and using 3G services.
If you're in a rural area, I would highly recommend getting a signal amplifier with an outdoor antenna aimed at the tower.
Not sure how complete this is, but here's a map of Canadian cell sites:

Thanks for your reply. I have to say no it's not a stick.
It's a modem that plugs into an outlet that runs off of BEV cell phone tower service.
Can hook up 15 wifi or ethernet units at one time to this router.

Thanks for your input. Will take great consideration in it. We live within a rural area that has four towers within 2 kilometers. We are hoping for the best. It must after all be better than our satellite internet.

Thanks, but if I may say "all the better to watch limesat with." After all that is what we are looking for. Anything is better than watching it with satellite hi-speed internet.

Thanks for your reply and input. We do have four towers located within two kilometers of our residence. But will be looking into your map of Canadian cell sites. We're hoping for the best.

have heard the turbo hub may only put out private ip and you may have to request public ip to run receivers.
