Police in Pennsylvania say a newlywed couple allegedly shoplifted more than $1,000 in food from a supermarket for their wedding reception, the Centre Daily Times reports.
Patton Township police say Arthur Phillips III, 32, and Brittany Lurch, 22, were married Aug. 18 and had scheduled the reception for Saturday afternoon.
According to police, surveillance footage at a Wegmans supermarket shows the couple loading a shopping cart and leaving the store without paying two hours before the event.
Police say the couple told them the food was for the wedding reception.
The couple, jailed on misdemeanor counts of retail theft and receiving stolen property, were unable to attend the event, the Times reports.
