Only thing that has changed in american car makers since 36 is the salaries they pay their workers - one would figure that they would catch up with the rest of the world by now .

They did have ~ 30 years since Ford ran out the first assembly line.
I looked at those guys and wonder how many got hurt during those times as their personal protection equipment was non-existence; most with no gloves, no head or eye protection, sleeves rolled and working next to those stamping machines with no hearing protection. But the pay was good....lol.
